If the Secret Lab hasn’t frightened you off, the Petpet Laboratory certainly will… there’s no telling what could happen to your Petpet. Just remember Neopets takes no responsibility for lost, damaged, stolen or exploded Petpets as a result of this experiment. Still interested?!

You will need to have access to the Secret Lab before you can zap your Petpet at the Petpet Lab. If you do, once you have collected all nine different pieces of the Petpet Laboratory Map go and redeem them at the Neopets Treasure Hunt game. After you do that, you will be given unlimited access to the Lab to zap one of your Petpets each day.

You can take one of your Petpets to the Petpet Laboratory once a day to have them zapped by creepy Kookith. What will happen to your Petpet you ask? There’s a few things - your Petpet may change names, change Petpet species and color, get turned into a Pile of Soot so you can get an avatar, have its level increased or your Petpet may simply disappear! Are you still interested?

Just remember:

  • The Petpet Protection League frowns upon experimentation on and zapping of Petpets. Once your Petpet is zapped, it will automatically be disqualified and will be unable to win the PPL award. They are very strict about this.
  • Zapped Petpets appear to be immune to any form of Petpet Paint Brush so you won’t be able to paint your Petpet a different color.
  • It has been noted that when removing a Petpet that has been zapped, it reverts back to its original form.
