A surprisingly quiet affair. I had expected huge crowds, but there were around a hundred or less shoppers in the Junction 8 mall. I caught the first show staged by Neopets at J8. The crowd started forming around 12.30pm and by 1pm, there was no more space for sitting in front of the stage.
A bright and cheery host, dressed in yellow overalls trooped in the stage at 1pm sharp and introduced the 3 stars of the show - Lupe, Chia and Scorchio.
Next, 3 lucky contestants were chosen to participate in the Game Show. Questions ranged from "What is the world in Neopets called?" to "Who lives on Krawk Island?" and general knowledge questions like "Where is the Leaning Tower found?" and "Who was Singapore’s first Prime Minister?". A 12 year old boy emerged the winner and walked away with a purple Chia plushie. The runner ups received a notebook and a visor.
Fans were then invited to take photographs with the stars. It is free if you spent over $50 in J8 or you can pay $5.
The whole event was wrapped up in less than half an hour and will run for another 2 weeks.
