Neopets At Hamleys 2003

On May 24, 2003, Neopets had an exclusive Neopets Voice Activated Toy Launch at Hamleys, Regent Street, London. The creators of Neopets, Adam and Donna, where there to meet with fans and Neopets Artists Keith and Ants were also there too to draw pictures for those that wanted one! nBn proudly presents some first hand reports from Neopets players who had the chance to go to the event.

It was a chance to meet my two friends from our guild there, to be honest. We made a bet with the guild - we said we’d wear Aisha Ears, and what’s more, get filmed for the embarrassing footage. That’s probably the mistake we made - we wore them. Once arriving at Hamleys, I got over the shock of about 400 Neopets players cramming into an increasingly long line for pictures. Instead, we (Kate, Lindz and I) pulled out our ears and put them on. Before we could speak to Adam or Donna, a woman rushed up to us. “Wow, love your ears. Mind if we film you?” She asked. “Erm… sure?” We replied. That was our first filming. And after that, the company that produces the voice activated toys wanted our pictures for their official launch page. Plus, we were asked for pictures with Adam and Donna & interviewed by someone from Neopets again. And all this because of a pair of ears. But the day was fantastic - Donna and Adam were lovely, and we learnt a lot of cool things that’s going to happen in Neopets - I can’t wait for the next time they’re in England! Unfortunately, my pictures need to be developed soon, so I don’t have any pics. :( We had a blast! I can’t remember who took the pictures of us with Adam and Donna (*grins* We were celebrities!)
