On August 8th 2008, Neohomes 2.0 was released for public beta and what a transformation it had received from the Neopets team. If you own a classic Neohome, you are able to keep your classic Neohome if you’d like and create a Neohome 2.0 version as well. There’s also the option of selling your classic Neohome to the Neopian Real Estate Agency to earn some NeoPoints. Unfortunately classic Neohomes will not be eligible to enter the Neohome Spotlight, only new Neohomes are allowed to.

To access the Neohomes section, it’s in the menu under My Account.

To create your own Neohome, go to the Neohome page. From here you can create your new Neohome, access a few Neohome shops, buy NC Mall Neohome items, read the FAQ, chat with other Neohome interested users, view the latest Neohome Spotlight winner or check out your classic Neohome, if you have one.

 

 

Create a Neohome

To create your new Neohome, click on the link underneath the picture of the Neohome. You’ll now have to choose where you and your pets want to live. Take your time as once you’ve chosen there’s no way to move locations if you change your mind and you’ll be at the address forever.

So now you’ve decided on your location, click the Create this Neohome button. And taaa daaa…

You’ve created your very own Neohome! Congratulations! A Starter Pack of Neohomes items is now in your Storage Shed. You’ll get a rug, lamp, chair, sofa, table, bed and side table as well as flooring and wallpaper. If you’d like even more furnishings, visit some of the Neopian shops to purchase additional items using either Neopoints or NeoCash.

 

You access your Storage Shed from your inventory. You put items in here that you want to use in your Neohome. Items that you currently are using in your Neohome will not show up in your Storage Shed, it just displays all your unused items, much like your Closet for the Customisation section.

Not all of the items from your classic Neohome will work in your new Neohome, but some of them will. To find out which items that will work in the new Neohomes, look for items with a brown background in your inventory, like below.

From the Neohomes NP Superstore you can buy a range of basic wallpapers, flooring, seating, tables, beds, lighting and decorations. The prices are set and you won’t be able to haggle for a lower one, but the items are cheap enough for basic furnishings and it gives you some items to work with. If there are more item choices available don’t forget to click on the more icon so you can view them.

If you’re prepared to spend real money for items for your Neohome, then you should visit the NC Mall. You can choose from furnishings, walls and floors, gardens, additions and superpacks, which are whole rooms in a bag.

 

Edit your Neohome

Once your Neohome has been created click on Customise my Neohome underneath the image on the Neohome main page. And you’ll be taken to your brand new Neohome.

 

 

	This is the navigation for when you are outside of your Neohome and are working on your Neogarden. Use the arrows to move your camera angle up, down, left or right. Here you can also zoom in or out by using the magnifying glass and there are five levels of zoom magnification to choose from.
	This is the icon for when you are outside of your Neohome. Want to go inside of your Neohome to arrange your furniture, then click on this icon.
	This is the navigation for when you are inside of your Neohome and are working on your room. Use the arrows to move your camera angle up, down, left or right. Here you can also zoom in or out by using the magnifying glass. In addition you can rotate the room camera angle 90 degrees with the bottom two arrows.
	This is the icon for when you are outside of your Neohome. Want to go outside of your Neohome to arrange your garden, then click on this icon.

 

Use the wrench icon on the left to edit your Neohome.
The camera icon in the middle is for you to take a snapshot your Neohome and you can use this as the default image for your Neohome if you want. To move the camera angle, use the navigation at the top left hand side to move left or right, zoom in or out or rotate your room. To confirm your snapshot, click in the square area.
Finally the eye icon will show you a preview of your Neohome that your visitors will see and the controls will disappear at the bottom, click the wrench icon to have the controls return.

 

Undo and redo your changes (we’re currently having problems with this feature and it only works sometimes) by clicking on the two arrow icons at the top. If you’ve made changes to your Neohome since you last saved and aren’t too happy with them, you can revert to your last saved version by clicking on the top right icon. Want to go shopping for more items for your Neohome? Click on the shopping trolley. To print out a copy of your Neohome to show your friends, click on the printer icon in the middle. Don’t forget to save your changes you’ve made, click on the disk icon in the middle right. You can choose who your Neohome is displayed to, from everyone to no one, and also choose to display animations, shadows, items or walls by clicking on the check mark icon on the bottom left. Need help? Click on the question mark icon. Had enough of designing your Neohome, then you can quit the application by clicking on the X icon at the bottom right.

 

	Furniture You can have different type of furniture displayed in your Storage Shed - from fences, seating, wall hangings to garden items. Use the scrollbar on the right to navigate through all the options.
	Materials You can have different types of materials like walls, wallpaper, windows and columns displayed in your Storage Shed.
	Neopets Do you pets want to play in your Neohome, then click here to put them in your new place. Neopets cannot be rotated. Seeing your Petpets in your Neohome may be an option in the future.

 

 

Your Storage Shed are where all of your items are placed. Use the arrows on the left and right to scroll through your items or use the bar at the bottom and drag right or left as needed. You can also search for particular items if you have too many. Rollover the item to get a quick description of it.

To put items in your Neohome click and drag the item of your choice from the Storage Shed window into your Neohome. Easy as that. To remove an item from your Neohome, simply click on it and drag it back into your Storage Shed.

When you’re outside of your Neohome, don’t forget you can also move the placement of your Neohome. Don’t like it being at the top corner, then click on your Neohome to move it elsewhere. You do have a limited area to move your Neohome within and the boundaries will show up as a yellow line.

 

Once you have put the item in your Neohome, a small menu will appear that allows you to move the item up, down, or rotate it. Keep in mind, though, that complete Neohomes, Neohome additions, and Neopets cannot be rotated.

 

To use materials in your Neohome, you need to click on the materials section, . Now drag the paint roller over the area you want to change. You can choose the wall colour and the floor.

 

If an item is in use in your Neohome, it will have a blue line around it like the plant on the right. Items not currently placed anywhere in your Neohome will not have this blue line around it.

 

Here you can see your pet in your Neohome and an example of how you can decorate your Neohome.

 

The new Neohomes application includes the ability to set PIN protection (a four-digit code that you can select). When PIN protection is turned on, this number must be entered or you cannot save your Neohome. Turning on PIN Protection also automatically protects your Storage Shed as well as your Neohome.
