Ok so now you have a room. Next thing is… furniture! There is quite a large range of items you can purchase to decorate the rooms in your NeoHome with and new furniture coming out all the time. You can purchase anything from simple and fairly cheap straw designs to the more luxurious furniture.

There are plenty of places that you can purchase furniture and goodies for your NeoHome - Neopian Furniture which sells a wide variety of furniture from the Regal Royal Oak Wood sets to lamps to economical bean bag chairs. The Tyrannian Furniture carries the finest in Straw, Stone and the oh so lovely smelling Dung furniture. The Spooky Furniture is for those pets with a more gothic taste in home furnishings. Add a little bit of magic to your NeoHome with some fantastic Faerie Furniture. Other places of interest include Kiko Lake Carpentry, Brightvale Glaziers, Kreludan Homes, Osiri’s Pottery, PetPet Supplies, Chesterdrawers’ Antiques, Roo Island Merchandise and the Neopian Garden Centre.

Now once you get that furniture, what do you do with it? Well you decorate the rooms in your NeoHome, of course. Follow the guide below and you will have you rooms spiffied up in no time.

 

Adding furniture to your NeoHome
Once you have purchased your furniture you can place it into one of your rooms in your NeoHome. The procedure for doing this is similar to sending an item to a Neofriend. Go to your inventory and click on the piece of furniture you wish to add. Select the room that you want to put it in from the drop down list. Press submit and your furniture will be sent to your room.

If you have not named your rooms prior to adding the furniture, then each of your rooms will say "Add to Unamed Room 1." "Add to Unamed Room 2", etc. So it’s best to name your rooms before adding furniture.

 

Arranging your furniture
Now that you have your furniture in your room you need to arrange it. Go to your NeoHome and click on Arrange Furniture and click on the room that has the furniture that you want to arrange. Once in there, you will be able to move the furniture around, rotate it and put things on top of each other (e.g. put a lamp on top of a table).

  • To start off with all your furniture will be clumped at the top left hand corner.
  • To move an item, click on the furniture you want to move (it will have a box around it when highlighted) and drag it to where you want it to be.
  • Now you can arrange your furniture by rotating in 90 degree increments and placing pieces on top of each other by using the depth tool. Having trouble placing that piece of furniture in just the right place then use the X and Y tools to nudge it to the spot you want. You can lock your furniture by hitting the Locked tool which is handy in case you bump your rug out of position. Hold down the shift key if you want to rotate your furniture in smaller increments, rather than 45 degrees.

 

 

Saving your furniture placement
Once you have arranged your furniture, you will need to save it before you leave otherwise when you go back in the room later, the furniture will be piled up in the corner again. To save it, just hit the Save Room button. Your furniture will now remain how you decorated it for everyone to see.

 

Removing furniture from your NeoHome
To remove any of the items from a room, go to your NeoHome and click on the room you wish to remove furniture from. Click on the text that says "Remove items here" and you will be taken to another page that displays all the items in your room. Click on the item you wish to remove and that item will be returned to your carried items.
