Do you like your "shield"? And if you could make your own shield character, what would you make? - Blue Wendy

Megg - With out a doubt - either Werther from the Lost Isle plot slash Sloth plot. Or Ylana cause she’s one hip Acara.

Pacific Julie - If I could design my own it would probably be an island petpet or pet of some sort…. or a mystery island item! That would be neat!

Blue Wendy - btw if I had my choice I would have my shield be something to do with Illusen. DUH! I know you guys saw that one coming. No originality. I know that they already have an Illusen shield, so I would have to come up with something great. Or maybe a "lifetime member shield" with like a special neopian crest. That would be really cool!

Tillie - I love my shield right now, its a fiery Scorchio or something. Fire is awesome. Except when its your shop or house, trust me, i know. XP If i could make my own shield, it would have a squid on it of course!

Jen Hen - Not really. Plus it stinks since it’s the sixth one, so I’m stuck with it until neo decides to update them (probably "early next week" ). If I could choose, I’d change mine up a lot. I love variety

Rock Star - If I could have any shield, I would have one with one of my neopets in it. (They would be customized)

Mei - Well my shield right now is a blue poogle. I really am not a big fan of poogles. I personally don*t like them. Of course no offense to any of you amazing chooks that do! And if I could make my own shield I would make a Vira one. I think she looks wicked!

Bella - Shields - I hate my shield. I’ve been stuck with the 6 year shield for what feels like forever, heck I’ve been here almost 7.5 years already. It always seems like Neopets forgets us veterans… no newbie packs, fewer chances for Rainbow Faerie quests, and of course shields. If I could design a shield, I would use more of the petpets… many of them are too cute!

Jenny Lynn - While I do find the Bringer Plushie to be just marvey. It would be nice to get a new shield, seriously. I have a serious affinity to plushies, so maybe if the shield itself were a plushie. Cute! Really just about anything new would be nice, I’d even be willing to settle for a yearly shield change instead of monthly like before.

Awesome Amy - At the moment, no, I don’t like my shield. It’s just a blue lupe with a yellow shield in the background. If I could design a shield I’d probably make a Strawberry Fields Forever Paintbrush shield!

Cook Michael - My shield has just changed to 5 years so yes it looks pretty cool! And if I could make my own, it would have to be a hot dog shield

How many languages do you speak and what are they? How fluent are you in any secondary languages? - Melorah

Melorah - Obviously, I speak English and Japanese. English is my native language, and I*m not the best at Japanese, but I speak it well enough to talk to my native Japanese friends without problems, and also to write in Japanese. There*s plenty of kanji that confuses me (or that I simply do not know), but I could get by just fine in Japan alone if necessary. Yes, I*m confident. Haha. ^_^ I dislike watching Japanese movies or programs that are subtitled (which I have to do if I*m watching with friends), because subtitles are often so terribly wrong and way off when it comes to Japanese-to-English translation. I just end up being disruptive and yelling,
That*s not what he just said!
, over and over. Hey, no wonder friends don*t like watching Japanese things with me. It all makes sense in hindsight. Haha.

Megg - I can count to 10 in German, know a little bit of Indonesian and know a few words of Japanese. They’re all the languages I took in high school which was over 15 years ago now, hehe.

Shara - I only speak English. I know a little Spanish. I had to learn some when I was the Supervisor in poultry where I worked for 19 years. Sadly I only learned enough to get me through work. Shawna may take it while in College, if she does I will learn it Fluently then. Ha Ha.

Samantha - I speak English and I know a little spanish. I took spanish kindergarten to 6th grade. I decided in 7th to try something new so I took French. I don’t remember any of it except for oui and non, of course. Haha. Than in 8th grade I took German, don’t remember much of that either. 9th grade I decided to take Spanish again because language was required, but 10th wasn’t, so I didn’t take any after that. Maybe next year in college I will, probably not though.

Namine - I speak two at the moment(not includeing french, spanish, and latin wich where manditory in grade 8) and i think i will keep it at two. japanese and english are the only ones im actually fluent in though. im fluent in english, though my spelling is lacking for what i can tell by the very few words i can actually spell without usuing spell check. and ofcorse im fluent in japanese, it being my first learned one and all…

Blue Wendy - Unfortunately I know just enough Spanish to find a bathroom, ask someone how they are, and order dinner. French, well, let*s just say I would be lost. I can count to ten. Does that count? lol.

Lola Kat - I speak English, some Spanish, a little Italian, I can understand some French and I "speak" American sign language (which is actually kind of complicated to learn grammar wise).

Tillie - Well i know a tiny bit of Spanish since i took it for two years in high school (though i forgot most of it), and some Russian because i took a year of that in college and learned some when i went to Moscow as an exchange student, and i know enough German to be able to read simple books and poetry and stuff but im not too great at speaking it yet. German is the only language im actively trying to learn at the moment. I intend to study Russian again later but its harder so im putting it off. I love languages but i need to meet people who actually speak them if im to have any luck becoming fluent.

Jen Hen - Well, there’s English of course (but only American English, not British English or Australian English, or any other type of English). I also took a few years of Spanish in elementary and high school. I remember a bit of it, but I’m nowhere near fluent (and my accent is awful). I also know a bit of sign language.

Rock Star - I speak English. I know some basic words or phrases in Spanish.

Mei - As you can probably tell my native tongue is English. I did used to speak Italian for when I lived in Italy for a year but now I have forgotten after never using it again. I also know a little bit of Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, and German. Don*t freak out or anything though about knowing 6 languages. I know about 10 words each.

Bella - Languages - I speak several languages at varying levels. I speak English as a first language and French as a second. But like I’ve said before I speak Quebecois French which is a strange dialect of the language. I also know a bit of Hawaiian, Spanish, Gaelic/Irish and Latin, as well as American Sign Language. I am thinking about going for classes in Arabic… but we will see.

Cook Michael - Well my main language is English, and I know the very basics of French and German, and I mean basics! I wouldn*t be able to go there and have conversations with people though. It*s a major problem with England that we are terrible at learning different languages. We go to places like Spain and just expect the natives to speak our language. I was never any good at French and German at school though. How I managed to pass my French GCSE I*ll never know!

Jenny Lynn - I speak English. I know a very little Spanish, Japanese, and American sign language. Oh, I guess I know a little Latin too, I took 5 years of Latin in high school. I took 4 semesters of Spanish in college. I took a class on sign language at my church so I could help sing songs and talk a little to a lady who went to my church. My friends are Japanophiles and are making me one too, they can speak Japanese fairly well and teach me some.

Awesome Amy - I speak English (duhhh) very, very fluently. I also speak Italian but I’m not really superb at that, I’m just good with the basics and the simple stuff! But I reckon if I went to Italy, I’d speak to the Italians just fine.

What’s your favorite Disney movie? - Samantha

Samantha - Mine is the Lion King. :] It has such a great storyline and the characters are amazing. The only downside of it is that it makes me cry every time I watch it!

Megg - Do I have to choose just one? Well I’m going to cheat a little bit, my fave Disney movie is Finding Nemo. But that’s a Disney/Pixar release. Apparently The Lion King is the all time fave Disney movie.

Blue Wendy - Wow, you mean I have to pick? Well my all time favorite is Sleeping Beauty, but that is mostly because I still like to pretend I am Princess Aurora. I know I am 34, but some women are still little girls at heart. lol. Lion King does make me cry also. I can not seem to watch the part where Mufasa dies. That tears me up every time. And when Simba is talking to his dad, Mufasa, up in the sky and in the reflection in the pond, ‘clutches chest’, total water works. Otherwise I would have to agree with you on that being my favorite. It just chokes me up too much too watch it. I am a total Disney freak too. Hence the Disney World Honeymoon.

Melorah - I would have to say that Lion King is my favorite Disney movie. When it came out, it was the first Disney movie I’d seen in a long time that really captured me. I went to see it in the theater when it was released around 18 times. I also have a collection of Simba items that I bought at random when I’d see stuff. (My favorite is a stuffed, talking Simba.) Back then, I’d bought the movie on VHS and like you, I missed getting it on DVD. Luckily, when one of my roommates moved in, she had the special edition 2-disc DVD of it, so I get to enjoy seeing it on DVD too. ^_^
I also think I have an added soft spot for the Lion King because my dad passed away several years ago, and Mufasa’s death and Simba’s reaction just really tug at my heart strings. When Mufasa tells him that he’ll always be there watching over him… I sob like crazy!
And I adore Timone. XD
Other Disney movies I really like are The Aristocats, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Sleeping Beauty. ^_^

Jen Hen - That’s such a hard question. Disney makes such great movies and I love them all! I think Aladin and Mulan are two of my favorites though. I love feisty leading ladies.

Pacific Julie - I have so many favorite Disney Movies! My very favorite is probably Robin Hood… But I just bought Enchanted and I L-O-V-E it!

Wise Christine - there are too many disney movies that i love and could not pick just one. i do love finding nemo though. love the lion king too. it also makes me cry. i remember seeing it in the movie theatre.

Mei - Well thats difficult because I have seen so many… I guess it would be Beauty and the Beast. I absolutely love the personification brought to all of the house items.

Bella - I have a few favorites such as Oliver & Company, the Great Mouse Detective… ooh and the Rescuers Down Under. Ever since seeing the Rescuers Down Under I have wanted to visit Australia. Maybe someday I’ll get there… I also want one of those Nile Monitors that the villain in the movie has.

Cook Michael - There are too many! I’d go with the Jungle book though.

Jenny Lynn - My favourite Disney cartoons are The Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood. I own most Disney cartoons, I’m trying to get them all, but movies can be a bit expensive. I’m not really sure why I like those so much. I just love Disney movies, so . . .

Awesome Amy - Mulan. It’s such a great movie! I actually really like Disney Movies, I am such a kid sometimes! Haha!

What’s your favorite children’s book? - Bella

Bella - "The Giving Tree" and "Oh! the Places you Will Go!"

Megg - I remember reading these Sesame Street books when I was a kid. There were about 20 of them. I remember getting chocolate all over one of them, the pages sure did smell nice, it was a Milky Way chocolate, hee.

Stacey - My fave childrens book is The Lorax by Dr. Seuse

Melorah - Mine was Go, Dog Go! by P.D. Eastman when I was a kid. It came released in a set of Dr. Seuss books from Random House in the early 1980’s (1981, I think) but it was published in 1961. Nobody I know has ever heard of that book. My mom says she got so sick of reading that to me. Haha! other favorites were The Tale of Benjamin Bunny and The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin by Beatrix Potter. I still enjoy reading Beatrix Potter. ^_^

Jen Hen - love Dr. Seuss. His books have such wonderful messages. I especially love The Lorax, The Butter-Battle Book, The Star-Bellied Sneetches, Horton Hears a Who, and Oh, the Places You’ll Go.

Pacific Julie - I had a book as a child about an old women named Strega Nona who would make pasta in a magic pot and blow it three kisses when it was done. I’m not sure what it was called but I loved it. (Just googled it.. It’s called Strega Nona. haha. There is a cute review at Amazon if you are curious!) I really enjoy Harry Potter books and of course Dr. Seuss! I liked, And to think I saw it on Mulberry Street.

Mei - I love The Giving Tree and the Peter Cottontail stories. And all Dr. Suess Books… They are great!

Lola Kat - Where the Wild things Are or Alice in Wonderland. My parents were hippies what can I say. lol

Namine - one book i used to love my dad reading to me was go dog go by dr. seuse(sp?) i didnt understand half of it, but the pictured of dogs in little cars always cracked me up!

Cook Michael - I loved reading the Famous Five and the Secret Seven when I was younger. And books by Roald Dahl. The man was simply a briliant author. His books should be used more prominently in getting children to read more.

Jenny Lynn - As a kid, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr.Seuss was my favourite, I also liked Each Peach Pear Plum and Where the Wild Things Are. I see Dr.Seuss is pretty much a staple which is great he was an amazing writer. He revolutionized teaching kids to read. When he started out it was only those Dick and Jane books, which are not very interesting, and he told the people in charge that and they gave him a list of words and told him to see if he could do better and he came up with The Cat in the Hat. I would say he did much better.

Awesome Amy - Cinderella. I always wanted to be like her and the book was my favourite.

If you could go ANYWHERE on holiday, where would you go? - Blue Wendy

Blue Wendy - I would go back to Walt Disney World for a second Honeymoon, lol. Well either there or Italy. I would love to see Italy.

Megg - Hands down, no questions asked - the Maldives. Oh it looks glorious and magnificent there. Simply amazing. I can see myself laying under a palm tree, coconut in hand, relaxing like there’s no tomorrow. Bliss!

Pacific Julie - Oh, so many places! I would want to take one of those cruises around the world. That would be amazing. Australia, New Zealand, Galapagos Islands, China, Japan, Hawaii, Turks and Caicos, Greece, the list goes on.

Mei - If I could go anywhere for a holiday I would choose Peru because it is so tropical with the Amazon and I want to go see Machu Pichu… one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Cook Michael - Very difficult question. I haven’t really been to many places in my life, but I hope that one day I’ll be able to go to America. Not sure exactly where, but I would love to see some of the natural elements of the country, away from the bright lights of the cities.

Jenny Lynn - I definitely wanna go to Japan, but ideally I’d like to live there for like a year, so let’s say I can do that which prolly means I also get to live in NYC for a year and London, so I wouldn’t need to go on holiday there, I’ve always wanted to go the the Great Barrier Reef for my Honeymoon, so i wouldn’t wanna go to Australia, so I’d say a trip across Europe. I haven’t decided if I want to live in Cali for a year or not. It’d have to be a pretty long holiday though to do Europe right.

Awesome Amy - Italy for sure.

What is your favorite holiday? - Rock Star Elle

Rock Star Elle - Mine is personally Christmas/ Hannakuh (sp?), you get to see so much family!

Tillie - Halloween!

Blue Wendy - Well it used to be Halloween, but now that I have my Husband and his family, as well as my own, I have to say I have come to really appreciate the sights, sounds, and love of the Christmas season.

Bella - Halloween! There are lots of reasons, my mom’s birthday is the day before so Halloween was always a big holiday growing up. But as I got older, I started to work in campaigns making my life CRAZY and it marks the week before Election Day when my life can return to normal.

Lola Kat - Usually halloween but the kids like never come to my house anymre for trick or treating so it*s not as fun for me anymore. Sometimes I don*t mind christmas but only because I like to drive around later at night on christmas eve on my own in the quiet listening to radio christmas carols and staring into peoples houses as I go by to see what they*re doing. I don*t know. I am not like creepy about it but just as i go by I glance in if the curtain is open.

Cook Michael - Easter is always good. I get two extra days off work because of the bank golidays

Jenny Lynn - Christmas, I love buying presents for people and watching them open it, plus people are usually nicer at Christmastime. I get to see my whole family and not work for a couple of days.

Awesome Amy - Christmas is my favourite. I count down every year! Right now, we’re down to 87 days for this year!

Does falling for a loser make you a loser? - Trinity Tusaani

Trinity Tusaani - I’d say no because if you were to marry a smart person, you wouldn’t become smart just because you marry him/her, right? So far my friends agree. 3 no’s and 1 yes.

Megg - Yes and no. Depends on what loser like qualities he has. If it’s minor loser like, then not so bad. But if it’s major loser like, then not so good. See falling for and marrying someone is completely different. If you just like a loser, then no harm done. I dunno, it’s complicated ^^

Namine - no, i dont think so. but it depends on what kind of mind-set you have. if your like me, and always fall for the videogame/anime people (aka every guy i hang out with) they arnt concidered losers because they are your friends.

Blue Wendy - Nope. Everyone has a different definition of what a loser is. And you are only a loser if you suddenly give up on yourself. Continue being you, stay true to your beliefs and don*t let other peoples actions create who you are. You can*t help who you fall in love with, but you CAN help how you handle the situation.

Cook Michael - Not at all. We all make mistakes in life, and you learn from them and become a better person. I know I have

Awesome Amy - Just because you fall for a loser doesn’t make you a loser. Besides, I don’t believe that people are ‘losers’.

Which girl scout cookie is your favorite? - Blue Wendy

Blue Wendy - Mine are the Caramel Delights. They used to be called Samoas or something like that. They are the best. If I eat all of those, its on to the Thin Mints. I have a cookie addiction problem, lol. Good night all!

Wise Christine - thin mints are my fav girl scout cookie!

Megg - We don’t have Girl Scout cookies here. I think I would like all of them though. They’ve got heaps of peanut butter ones - so any of those would suit me to a T.

Samantha - Than my favorite Girl Scout cookies are definitely Thin Mints. I could eat a whole box of them. Probably more. Haha.

Rock Star Elle - Oooh! Cookies? Well- I have to say I LOVE Thin Mints, Somoas, and this other one… oh.. boo… ooh, Tagalongs! Yes! This little girl came to my house and I ordered 3 boxes of each.

Tillie - Well, i was a Girl Scout for a number of years and sold over 1000 boxes for a couple years in a row (which is really a lot, if youve never sold Girl Scout cookies before) so im tempted to say im just plain sick of them, lol. But those Caramel Delights (Samoas) are just TOO good; they were always my favorite.

Bella - I am a lifetime girl scout! I am a hug fan of the Tagalongs and Do-dis-dos (Peanut Butter between two oatmeal cookies - there you go Megg… it’s mildly healthy and peanut buttery) GS Cookies sell themselves. As a Campus Girl Scout (College Aged Scouts) we use to bring troops to campus and had them sell cookies in the student center, they sold like 10,000 boxes a year just on our campus.

Lola Kat - When I can hunt them down and find a seller of them I like caramel delights or whatever they are called now. They had a strawberry one for a second I liked too but it*s gone now.

Cook Michael - Well I’ve never had a girl scout come round to my house trying to sell me a cookie, or anything for that matter! I used to be in the Scouts myself a long time ago.

Jenny Lynn - Thin Mints are my favourite. For the new Indiana Jones movie M&M’s came out with Crispy Mint M&M’s and they remind me of Thin Mints, yummy. It’s kinda weird though, because I don’t really like mints, I like mint chocolate chip ice cream too, especially when it’s green(Haagen Daaz makes one that’s not green b/c it’s more natural white, but it’s just not the same). I like Andes Mints, but not really Peppermint Pattys, hmmm, idk.

Have you broken any bones? If yes, what and how? - Megg

Megg - I broke my left arm in 6th grade during fitness class. We were doing exercise on the outdoors basketball court which had the fake grass on the ground. We got split up into teams and were told to race across the basketball court… running backwards. Only I could manage to fall over and smack my arm on the ground. I may even have passed out for a second. The teacher sent me up to the nurses office, on the way I almost passed out. My mum came to pick me up at some point. I went home and rested on the couch all day my arm in terrible pain. I had a doctors appointment that day for some other related thing. I mentioned to the doctor that my arm was sore. So he ordered some x-rays. Yup, turns out my arm was broken and I got a cast put on. I had to go back to hospital a week or so later because the break wasn’t clean, or they didn’t set my arm right. In to surgery I went and they rebroke my arm and set it right. I was in a cast for about 6 weeks. I was never so glad to get it taken off. My left arm, the one I broke, is a little bit shorter than my right only by a centimetre and my wrist bone sticks out way more than my right one does.

Samantha - I actually have never broken a bone(yet). I have sprained and twisted them pretty badly which hurts, I cant imagine the pain of breaking a bone feels like. Yikes.

Sarah - Nope! ‘touches wood’ I’m not terribly adventurous, even if I am a bit clutsy

Jen Hen - Despite the fact that I am a complete klutz (I tripped walking up the stairs from the subway today for example) Ive never broken a bone. ‘knock on wood’ Im hoping to keep it that way.

Tillie - Nope, i’ve actually never broken a bone, or even really gotten hurt, despite the skiing accident in which i jumped, landed against a tree, and broke a ski (d’oh). And despite the rollover car accident (double d’oh). I am indestructible!

Cook Michael - Nope, not that I am aware of anyway. No idea how either. I have had that many bumps and bruises over the years I think it is only a matter of time! I did however lose a little bit of my ear when I fell off my bike at a young age (wear a helmet kids!).

Trinity Tusaani - Nope and proud of it. All that milk I drink has to amount for something. The closest I’ve come to horrible injury was the time a jeep ran over my foot in the fourth grade. I’d tell you what ended up happening to my toe but I think that might end up falling under the ‘too much info’ category.

Bella - None thankfully (knocks on wood). I have however ripped the tendon in my ankle. I was running up wet stairs at college and slipped off the step and fell down the whole flight backwards, knocking over all my classmates and the professor. (I am a klutz). It still hurts almost all the time, and that was like 5 years ago. I spent 9 months on crutches after the accident.

Namine - yes, a few too. my left arm when i fell out of a tree. my leg (i cant remember which one) when i fell out of my friends play house roof. and my right big toe when i kicked the wall out of anger. but im un-broken today (for now…)!

Jenny Lynn - No broken anything. I wanna keep it that way too.

Which came first the chicken, the egg or Megg? - Bella

Bella - I am inclined to believe the egg, only because dinosaurs had eggs and the chicken evolved later, if you believe in evolution. If you believe in creationism, then the chicken came first, as it would have been silly for the creator to make eggs rather than actual animals. But in either case, Megg is still a spring chicken in comparison.

Megg - Megg definitely came first. All good things come first! ’shifty eyes’

Blue Wendy - Which came first the chicken, the egg or Megg?~ I think I am gonna vote for Magnificent Megg.( At least as far as the guild is concerned. She is the all wise and wonderous Megg and we are very lucky to have her.) But, now if you are talking planet Earth wise, well I have to agree that the egg came first. The chicken had to come from somewhere.

Sarah - Well, in terms of chronological order, it’ld have to be either the chicken or the egg, but naturally, in order of priority, we’d have to put the Megg first, won’t we?

Jen Hen - A circle has no beginning (A cookie if you get the reference!) Aside from that, Im going to go with the chicken. When I think of the egg coming first, I picture an egg just randomly poofing into existance onto a giant patch of grass somewhere, so in my head, the chicken coming first makes more sense…much more sense than that answer made Oh, but for sure Megg came last because youve always got to save the best for last!

Cook Michael - The ChiMegg.

Trinity Tusaani - I’ll give you my cretive answer instead of my Supernerd one. I’d say the egg since they had dinosaur eggs before chickens. Hey you didn’t say what kind of egg =)

Jenny Lynn - Megg came first, she made the guild. I joined and she deemed me an egg, then eventually I became a chicken. Right now I’m a goalkeeper, but I’m always a chicken.

What’s the scariest movie you’ve ever watched, or what was your favorite horror film? - Lady Legolas

Megg - Scariest movie you ever saw. I know people will laugh, but it was Gremlins. I had nightmares for months after I saw it when I was a kid. I was convinced there was a giant Gremlin outside at night, I could even see the shadow ‘hides’

Shara - I love scary movies. I just do not think they make them scary. They are making them more gross than scary I think. My opinion though. My son gets scared but I do not. I enjoy watching them with him. He jumps and yells. He is 21. It is funny.

Bella - I am not a big fan of horror; I love B rated horror flicks. But I do have a favorite. A long time ago in 1987, a director, whom many of you should know, by the name of Peter Jackson. He shot the movie over a few weekends with friends using his personal equipment on this no-budget film, until the New Zealand Art/Movie Commission was so impressed with what he already shot that they gave him some cash. Tons of gore and such, but absolutely great (and funny). I also love the fact that it is Peter Jackson. It just goes to show what you can do when you practice.

Sarah - I don’t like scary films D: They’re… scary (wow, I didn’t see that one coming) and I don’t think there’s been a single scary movie I’ve seen that hasn’t totally freaked me out, so I can’t rank them… and I most definitely don’t have a favourite! I much prefer a comedy (Death at a Funeral was a laugh).

Tillie - The scariest movie i’ve ever watched is the original Amityville Horror…not particularly scary by my current standards (no movie is), but i was little when i saw it, and i remember it as the ONLY movie that EVER scared me…and i was terrified. lol I wish a movie could still do that to me, it would be fun…

Cook Michael - I love horror films. All the Saw films in my opinion are brilliantly made.

Trinity Tusaani - I’m not much of a scary/horror movie person. The only horror movie I’ve really watched was "Chainsaw Massacre" and I only watched it because it was my friend’s birthday. It wasn’t that scary.

Jenny Lynn - I am a horror movie junkie, whether it’s Hollywood blockbusters, B-movies, Japanese originals, or black and white "classics" I wanna see it. No matter how good or bad, gory or stupid. They can be good for a scare, a laugh, or just plain entertainment. Horror’s a great genre!

Do you and your friends share a secret language, handshake or phrase? How/Why did it develop? - Bella

Bella - My best friends always use expressions like Double Surplus Good, or Triple Bad like they do in the George Orwell book 1984. When we worked at a summer camp for high school students a few summers ago, M (one of my best friends) started saying things like this because it intimidated the students… and then the rest of the staff picked it up and we still use it when chatting together.

Megg - My husband and I can have whole conversations in internet chat speak. Ya rly, orly. Srsly? Obviously right? Oh noes! Ya infi! I also chat speak at work - no one else can understand me. I’ll be like "sure whatevs" then I’ll get a confused look. Oppps.
We also call each other Randal instead of "random". Oh you’re so Randal. That’s one of our fave words.

Tillie - I don’t have any secret languages exactly, but my husband and i randomly say "gol’dang and whatnot" and other silly stuff all the time. Does it count if he’s always trying to talk to me in Romanian and i don’t understand? So i have to say stuff back to him in German and he doesn’t always get that. We’re so secret, we don’t even understand each other. lol

Sarah - Hmm… There are some words that our friends discuss between each other, or nicknames for certain people we talk about for privacy reasons, but we don*t do it to particularly exclude people. Sometimes it*s humour, other times it*s probably more polite They usually just develop one it*s used in one case, and someone brings it up once more and it begins to stick

Trinity Tusaani - Sorry- new languages just arent my thing- I doubt trying to make up a new one would help!
We have our inside jokes that no one else is going to understand though.

What’s your favorite childhood memory, or best story from your childhood? - Jen Hen

Jen Hen - My story takes place when I was about 7. Growing up, there were only four kids in my neighborhood, and I was the youngest. The four of us lived on our bikes during the summer. We’d constantly have bike races, and as the youngest, I always lost. It could’ve had something to do with the fact that I had a little pink bike with no gears, and the only means of stopping was pedalling backwards. Anyway, my story begins with the four of us lining up at the top of our neighbor’s (very steep) driveway to start a bike race. We were just racing to the corner, and I was determined that I wasn’t going to lose this race. My neighbor, Amy calls out "Ready, set…GO!" followed almost immediately by, "No, wait! STOP!" But it was too late, I was already halfway down the driveway, pedalling my little heart out. Next thing I know, I run directly into the side of a moving truck, bounce backwards, and land on the sidewalk. All I can think of is the number of times that I’d been told to "look both ways before crossing the street" and the amount of trouble I was probably going to be in for hitting this truck. So, I see the driver jump out of his truck to run over to me (probably because he was worried that I was hurt) and I instantly think of how much trouble I’m in, so I jump up, and run screaming and crying into my house. Well, luckily no one was hurt, and the truck was old and resilient, so it suffered little damage as well. I also, somehow managed to escape punishment. Maybe it was because I was hysterical, and everyone was just glad I was ok. However, I was never able to look that man in the face again. Especially a few years later when I discovered that the day I had hit the side of his truck just happened to be his birthday.

Tillie - My favorite childhood memory…oh gosh, that’s hard. I’m going to go with the fishing trips my grandpa and dad took me on when i was little. I had so much fun. I’m vegetarian now, and wouldn’t fish again, but i can admit it’s a great memory.

Megg - Going on vacations with my folks. Spending oodles of time in the pool and at the beach.
Also all the parties my folks and their friends used to throw. Many crazy nights!
The funniest, well not so funny at the time, was when I cut my sister’s beautiful curls off. I have no idea why I did it, I was like 4 or 5 at the time. I hid the cut curls under the bed. Gee, you think my folks wouldn’t notice my sister’s hair? I got in so much trouble because of it.

Bella - Favorite Childhood memory? I have to pick just one… I just can’t… so I’ll be brief with a few of them. 1) When my sister Jaclyn and then later when Sammy was born… I love being a big sister. 2) When I went to Ireland with my mom for my 16th birthday (with some folks from high school). 3) Being asked to participate in the flag ceremony at a national hockey game. 4) Being a mascot at a national league baseball game (ok this was like last year… but still it rocked). 5) Being asked to consider moving to Colorado to train for skating competitions in the US and around the world (I turned it down because I was starting college that fall). 5) Making an AMAZING catch (popup deep into centerfield, I grabbed the ball, but fell into a divit in the field, and tumblesauted but didn’t let go of the ball all the same) in the final playoff game in softball, helping us win the Championship.

Princess Sammy - Favorite Childhood memory? Well, since im still a "child." I think my best memory was being in my first school play. It was Hello Dolly. I believe 3rd grade? Yes.. I was the youngest cast member in the play.. and i was so cute in my blue dress with a big white bow. and that was pretty much it.

Sarah - *covers ears* I*M STILL A CHILD! xD I have absolutely the worst memory ever o_o; I remember falling over one time (I still have a small scar on my knee from it) because that was quite dramatic since I think my bone was showing or something… but.. it*s not exactly a *favourite* memory is it

Cook Michael - I loved going to school when I was younger, and playing football with all my friends. Towards the end of my school life, I hated it. Could not wait to get away, but I would love to be back there again, with all my friends everyday.

Which are your fav shows? - Juliette

Megg - Too many to list! I have a serious TV problem. Amercia’s Next Top Model, House, Amazing Race, Survivor, Lost, Prison Break, Heroes and oodles more that I can’t think of right now.

Tillie - My favorite shows are Star Trek and X-Files; i haven’t really gotten into anything else since those ended. Although i do kinda like Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters on the Discovery Channel.

Jen Hen - A few years ago, one of my roommates introduced me to the wonder that is Project Runway, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Of course, since I moved I no longer have cable, so I thought I would have to miss this season. Luckily for me, however, I have managed to find the full episodes online, so I can keep up with my obsession *does happy dance*. Also, I was recently informed that you can watch full episodes of many shows on abc(dot)com so I’ve been catching up on the last three seasons of Lost. I also really love America’s Next Top Model and House. Despite all this, I really don’t watch a whole lot of television -shifty eyes-

Trinity Tusaani - My favourite T.V. shows are probably stuff like The Amazing Race and oh yeah, my friend has gotten me watching Grey’s Anatomy right now- all three seasons. My other friends say that it’s not good for me.

Sarah - Ooh, I like America*s Next Top Model and House M.D. best I think I do like a lot of other little ones like CSI, Bones, Project Runway, Scrubs, Greys Anatomy etc. But I don*t get time to follow them since I don*t get to watch a lot of tv

Cook Michael - I think my avatar gives it away. Lost, Friends, The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, Scrubs, and in general the music channels. Love them all.

Rock Star Elle - My favorite shows? Rugrats Hehe. Well- actually a number of shows, Im sadly really into those dating shows like I Love New York and Tila Tequila. Theyre weird- but entertaining. Thats all I can remember. Sorry!

Are you more into avatar collecting and wasting your NP or saving your NP? Why? - Stacey

Megg - I guess a bit of both. I save my NP but I also buy myself (eeks, I didn’t say my pets, how horrible am I?!) some random things. I like avatar collecting too and I won’t hesitate to buy some pricey items to get an avatar. Although I haven’t got some of the more expensive avs like Orange Grundo (need a Grundo and an orange PB), Mummified Ruki, Island Quiggle, those types of avatars.

Bella - Anyway, to your question - It depends. I have purchased items for the avatars, but some of the ones (like ZDAP, the Faerie Queen, Meowclops and some of the more expensive ones) I managed to find someone on the avatar chatboard to loan me. I still needed full collateral but I got it back when I returned the item.

Tillie - I’m not extremely into avatar collecting…there are other things i’d rather spend my NP on. I save it up to reach certain goals and then i spend it on those goals (i don’t make random purchases). Now i’m pretty much just training my Lupe and buying stuff for my galleries, and buying the occasional wearable.
Heh, well i like getting avatars, but i don’t try too hard because there are already so many i can’t get…like anything related to petpets (i’ll never detach any of mine to get, say, a Snowbunny) or pet species/color (i’ll never morph or paint any of my pets something else). So i don’t see the point of trying too hard for the expensive ones…i’m never going to have like 300 avatars. I’d only do it if there’s one i really like…

Shara - Actually, I like doing both. I usually work real hard and save a lot and then go blow it on avatars. I guess you could say that I would be on a shopping spree. Sometimes I can do both at the same time. The best way is through the games. You get to build your band and get avs at the same time. That is the hardest one for me though. I hate playing the games. I am not good at all.

Jen Hen - I’m a huge avatar collector. For whatever reason, I love the little pixels . I have blown a lot of neopoints on them, and I’m sure I’ll continue to do so in the future. I also spend a lot of neopoints on my two galleries. Every time I think I’m almost done, I find a whole assortment of other items I need to buy. It’s a never ending cycle. I do, however, also have a good base in my bank account of neopoints that I don’t let myself spend if I can avoid it.

Trinity Tusaani - Do I save my neopoints or waste them on avatars? I tend to save them. I only get the ones that I can resell or the ones that I’m going to actually use.

Cook Michael - I try to do a bit of everything I have been known to blow millions of neopoints at a time on junk, or gambling on nerkmids / slots / scratchcards. So far this year though, I have behaved myself, trying to save my neopoints. Although my neogoal was to reach 5 million neopoints for this year, I want to do even better and get passed 10 million. Miracles can happen

Have you ever been on a roller coaster that scared you out of you mind? Why did it scare you soo much? - Stacey

Megg - Nope, I’ve only been on a couple of roller coasters and they haven’t been really that scary. I wouldn’t go on an uber scary one, I’d be way too scared.

Awesome Amy - No, not a rollercoaster because I find the rollercoasters here quite boring and way too short. I love adrenaline! xD Anyway, I have been on other types of rides that freak me out like the Hurricane and the Ranger! They scared me out of my mind because it feels as though your about to chuck up your lunch on the Hurricane. On the Ranger it feels like you’re falling from so high up! They are the best rides though, the scariest and the most fun!

Jen Hen - Nope, I love roller coasters! They are so much fun Usually if I get scared just looking at a ride, I’ll avoid it altogether, but that rarely happens.

Jenny - I love roller coasters, the only time they scare me is if i don’t feel safe otherwise not at all. we have one called the borg and you lay down and it flips you over and you’re kinda flying, anyway they have this lap bar and then like a life vest you’d wear on a boat that’s holding you up and that kinda scares me because it’s not tight or anything and your back isn’t against the seat. Overall I LOVE roller coasters and am not scared on them.

Cook Michael - I have been on quite a few rollercoasters, and I love them The adrenaline rush you get from them, is in my opinion fantastic!

Tillie - Scary roller coaster: Id have to say Space Mountain at Disneyland. I had my eyes closed almost the whole time. Im sure id love it now, but i was only like 8 and it scared me to death!

Blue Wendy - I would have to say the Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles. "Starting with the world*s tallest vertical loop at 14 stories, and two other loops of 9 story and 6 stories. Add to that a 4 story corkscrew and a double barrel boomerang turn.", all done at 70 mph. It*ll turn your stomache inside out.

What is your favorite breakfast cereal? - Wise Christine

Wise Christine - i love too many ceareals to pick…. i love fruity pebbels and cocoa pebbles, captain crunch, honey smacks, golden grahms, corn pops, lucky charms…… yes the list could go on.

Megg - Aww, we don’t get all those cool named cereals like you do in the US, only your basic ones like Coco Pops, Fruit Loops and others I can’t think of right now. I go through phases, I’ll like cereal for a bit then can’t eat it for a while. At the moment I can’t eat cereal. But I like those "healthy" cereals where there’s fruit and lots of grains and that sort of stuff. Or muesli with yoghurt.

Bella - Favorite cereal? I happen to be lactose intolerant (I know… I have plenty of friends who are cows, but I can’t seem to face milk) so I can’t put milk in my cereal so I don’t eat it too often. So I have to buy special milk, which I often forget at the store, I love frosted mini wheats.

Awesome Amy - My fave cereal is good old porridge believe it or not! Nice and warm and soothing and perfect for Wintery days!

Trinity Tusaani - Mine would be Fruit Loops- however, do you have any idea of how much sugar is on that stuff?

Juliette - I think my favorite breakfast cereal is either oatmeal or cheerios crunch. My mother doesn’t let me have cocoa crunch, or whatever it’s called, she says it’s too sugary. Although, once she bought Fruitloops with 1/3 of the normal sugar, and I nearly fainted, I was so surprised. It tasted real nasty, though.

Jen Hen - It’s a tie between Life and Peanut Butter Crunch. I think Life might win though, simply because it is so much fun to utter the phrase "I love Life!"

Cook Michael - I tend to just have Rice Krispies, but Coco Pops are a nice treat to have from time to time

Rock Star Elle - My favorite type of cereal? Cocoa Krispies or Cocoa Puff.

Tillie - I like that muesli stuff, the kind with the fruit and nuts and all that in there. I also like oat flakes…they sound plain and boring but theyre really good.

Blue Wendy - Lucky Charms I dig all of those marshmallows.mmm sugary goodness.

Why did you first join Neopets? - Stacey

Megg - I almost didn’t join as it looked a bit too kid-like. I was going to sign up with an underage account because I was too embarrassed about my age. I think I was 23 at the time, what 23 year old plays on a kids site? But I thought, what the hey. I was on holidays in the US at the time and I had nothing better to do. Who would have thought I would still be playing 7 years later. This is the longest I’ve stuck to anything, hehe. I’m so glad I did as I’ve met some wonderful people. You chooks included, heehee :P

Awesome Amy - I first joined neopets because one of my friends led me here. I didn’t know what on Earth I was signing up for and then I got into the avatars and the shops and galleries and games and all of that stuff and now… I’m addicted! xD

Trinity Tusaani - I joined because my friends did! Peer pressure… well I was seven at the time.

Dane - Because I was living with my aunt and uncle for a summer, and my cousin had an account. Along with just about every other person under the age of 14, and quite a few older, in the neighborhood. We all had one and would chat with each other all the time. Wow, I can remember when I thought that having 10k was like the most amazing feat ever.

Shara - The answer to your question. I joined neopets because of Shawna. She was on a few months before me and I happen to walk by her room what day and asked what she was doing and she said it was something on the computer that she had found like the giga pets. When they were little. So, I checked it out and she helped me get signed up almost 5 years ago.

Cook Michael - I think I was 17 at the time, and my ex girlfriend used to play on the game Ultimate Bullseye. She wasn’t very good at it though, so asked me to make her some neopoints. I did, and got into it a bit, so decided to make my own account a few months later. I’ve done much better than her

Bella - Why did you join Neopets? Well once upon a time, I was forced by state law to take a basic computer class. Unfortunately for me, I was well beyond a basic level for the computer so I was bored senseless. I finished my whole workbook the first week of classes and needed something to do. I figured since I would be online everyday for class, I should find a virtual pet. So I went to yahoo (this was pre-google days) and looked up virtual pets and neopets was the first link to come up. I’ve been here pretty much ever since.

Sarafina - ordeith sucked me in many moons ago. I think I complained about being bored online and he referred me. I still curse him from time to time for this obsession.

Ninja Namine - i actually joined at a sleep over. we where bored and had nothing better to do, so we all made accounts. their accounts where long forgotten after about a week, but mine lasted for about 4 months (that would be my namine_artistic account that you all met me on). then that account was iced, so i made namine__artictic. so after about a month of playing i got totally addicted to it! you have to admit, this /is/ an addicting site.

Jen Hen - I think it was during the gigapet craze. I was looking for a website where I could take care of a virtual pet, and stumbled across neopia. I got hooked, and with the exception of the few hiatuses that I’ve taken, I’ve been here ever since

Jenny - I was a freshman in college and very bored. I hated my roommate, try living in a 8 x 10 room with someone you can’t stand. (i won’t elaborate, it would be endless) So, i did a random search and found bored(dot)com and from there I found tons of links to interesting sites including Neopets. I loved it from the start.

What was your best moment on Neopets in 2007? - Megg

Pasqui - Definitely my decission to take a break from Neopets. xD In the long run it made me enjoy Neopets even more than I did before, while at the same time no longer controlling me.

Princess Sammy - I am not really sure… maybe finally remembering how to get into this account

Sarah - I’d have to say getting uniced. Logging in this morning to see such a quick reply, and all my things in tact was… joyous to say the least. I was.. ecstatic xD Over the moon. Boucing off the walls.

Trinity Tusaani - Probably when I found a pretty little lost dessert paint brush!

Dane - Getting involved in the guild again. Seriously though, I’ve made some great friends here. It’s been one heck of a year chooks!

Shara - When I reached 1 millions nps in my bank. I refuse to go lower than that. If there is something I want I will just work and save my nps.

Cook Michael - Definitely has to be being donated so many hot dogs for my gallery by one person that was taking a break from the game.
Also completing Illusen’s Quest 35 to obtain the Honey Potion. I’m keeping that until the next war when it’s price will rocket

Sarafina - Truthfully, I wasn’t around enough to have a lot of great moments, but I did complete the Altador Plot.

Awesome Amy - My best moment on neopets in ‘07 was finding this guild definitely. I had some bad experiences with past guilds and I wasn’t so sure if this guild would be any different.
Well, it turns out that joining nbn is one of the best choices I’ve made guild-wise and I am here to stay!

Ninja Namine - deffently when the boochi zapped senchiko_chan. i miss him so much! him and my little kairi__kitten. but other than that, hitting 200k was also very awesome.
