Now that the holidays are upon us, I’m curious, what is your favorite holiday tradition? What is your favorite holiday food? And where do you prefer to spend your time during the holidays? - Renee

Kristie - My favorite holiday tradition is decorating the house with lights and setting up a fresh christmas tree! There is nothing better than pulling into the driveway with the house lit up. My favorite holiday food would have to be pumpkin pie with cool whip! Yummy! As for where we prefer to be for the holidays… anywhere our family is.

Melorah - My favorite Holiday tradition is simple. Taking the time to reflect upon all the blessings I*ve received as well as all the hard times that I*ve had over the year. After all, you can*t appreciate the good without the bad, and something can always be learned from the unpleasant experiences. I meditate and think about what I*ve done, what I would like to do, and what positive changes I can make in the coming year. I make note of it all in a book that I keep and have used for fifteen years. This is something that I do alone.
My favorite holiday food is Vegan pumpkin spice cake. I obviously can*t and don*t eat what a lot of people do since I*m Vegan. But this cake goes great as a treat for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and of course Halloween!
I spend the Holidays at my place, but make trips to my Grandparent*s house as well. It’s the gathering place for all the family, so we get to spend time together as well as just having the holiday in our individual homes.

Manji - Now, to answer the question. One of my favorite holiday traditions is eating chinese food on christmas eve. See, my dad is a chef, and so always works late on christmas eve. When I was little, we lived on the east coast, when my dad got off work, the only place to eat was chinese because (for the most part) they were the only place open! Therefore, my favorite holiday food is chinese. I prefer to spend my holiday time with loved ones.

Renee - My favorite holiday tradition is by far setting up my Christmas Village with my girls and just decking out the house with LOTS of decorations. My village is huge (over 24 square feet!). It has everything! My favorite holiday foods are too many to list. My eldest daughter and I LOVE to cook and she makes the best creme brulee! As to where I prefer to spend my holidays - anywhere my girls are! Later!

Effie - my favorite holiday tradition? i dont like it, but we really dont have any traditions for this time of year. other then our holiday commutes, i center this time of year around kairis b-day and christmas, spoiling the kids as rotten as i can i am trying to start one this year though, mick is showing intrest in cooking… he brought home a recipe for cranberry bread that were gonna start off with, i may have a little chef through the holiday seasons this year
my favorite holiday food? cranberry sauce, hands down. i only eat it this time of year, and i eat insane amounts of it… ill buy and eat cans of it all by itself. my husband thinks im crazy, hell walk past and im sitting on the couch with a can of cranberry sauce and a spoon. next would be sweet potato pie, but i dont like pie crust. my mom buys 2 pies every year, ill eat the entire pie filling in 2 days
where do i prefer to spend my time during the holidays? i would prefer to spend the entire time with my sister, shes the coolest sister and aunt to have as things stand, i get to see her as much as i can so im happy. for both thanksgiving and christmas we go to jasons aunt shirleys house for dinner at noon, we hang out and see his family. then we go to my moms house for dinner at 6, we get there early b/c for christmas we have a second present opening session

Tiny - Probably decorating the tree and the house. We always do it the day after Thanksgiving. It*s a tossup. I can*t decide between the stuffing and the pumpkin pie. My dad used to make the best pumpkin pie you ever tasted but he since passed away and no one in the family can figure out how he did it.

Princess Kati - During the holidays, I prefer to spend time with my family at home. My favorite holiday food? That would probably be cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving dinner.

Sweet Talula - oh, there are so many… um. well, the day after thanksgiving, my mom, maggie, and i make hot chocolate, play christmas music really loud and decorate the house with a christmas tree in every room- even small ones for the bathroom. and then i go to my dad*s on christmas eve, where we eat all day and watch old home videos while we wait for santa to come. then that evening santa (aka my cousin*s grandpa) comes in with presents for everyone. and we take turns sitting on his lap while he asks us the traditional santa questions. it is so funny to see us all grown up and still getting excited about santa claus.

i love me some stuffing.
i also love presents- which are pretzels that we put in the oven with hugs on top. when they come out we put red and green m&ms on them. yumm!
anywhere my family is. and maybe one day, puppy too. hopefully. =)

Audi - going to a family & friends christmas eve party every year to do a white christmas and seeing everyone have way too much fun stealing everybody elses presents :0 one year i ended up with a flying pig.
it has always been pumpkin pie!

Megg - Ohhh I haven’t had marshmallows for years. I want marshmallows now *whiiiines*

Bella - No but that sounds like fun

Triple Amy - Not with mini but with regualrs, sure. BTW that is soooo unsafe people! For goodness sake put the marshmellows down!!!!

 

What did everybody get as their random NCmall item? - Audi

Audi - I got a cobweb with a lil spider who blinks, alot. It goes good with my ghost pet for the spirit of Halloween.

Megg - Nothing yet, I haven’t opened my goodie bags. I’m not sure when or if I’ll do it just yet. I really want the Pumpkin String Lights, Haunted Graveyard BG or Cobweb banner.

Sweet Talula - i got a pretty spooky background which i used on mypuppiee since i couldn*t put any other halloween items on him. poor baby neopet. everything else was spooky treats for all of my neopets. i love free stuff!

Jenny Lynn - I got all my goodie bags and opened them, my big prize is that creepy giant moach baby thing. Darkness has it if you wanna see.

Bella - I am not going to open it yet. I’ll wait til I’m having a bad day and let it perk me up.

Awesome Amy - I got the broomstick that is currently equipped to shiiver_in_the_cold.

 

If you won the neopian lottery jackpot what would you use it on? - Maggie

Megg - Well over the past few weeks/months the jackpot has been decreasing slightly. It used to be easily over a million NP each day. If I won the whole jackpot, I think I’d give it to the Guild. There’s nothing I really really want at the moment.

Princess Kati - I would use the NP to buy the petpet paint brushes I want.

Kristie - I*d probably add some more stamps to my album.

Alex houses - if I won the Neopian lottery (really won, not just the 500 NP now and then in my premium email ), I would paint Rorale faerie! After that, I’d probably blow it all on paintbrushes/morphing potions/customization and probably wouldn’t have a penny to my name when I was done

Sweet Talula - ohh, i would so get the lab map and buy starry items with whatever i had left. did somebody say shopping spree?!?

Renee - Someone asked if you ever won the neovian lottery what would you do with the money. Well, I have won one time! On premium neopets! I won 10,000 points and put it all in the bank. So, not the jackpot, but I did win off a lottery ticket!

Bella - Well I’d probably buy a few items on folks wish lists (like I normally do) for them, then stock up on some items from the White Elephante list and give them out, and then invest some in the stock market and bank the rest.

Awesome Amy - I’d put a lot of it in my bank account, I’m looking to save a lot. I’d use some for my gallery, some for Christmas gifts and some for spoiling my fellow chooks. Plus some for spoiling myself!

Alyssa - If I won the Neopian lottery jackpot, I would put it in my bank. Right now I am not looking to buy anything ^^

Jayme - if i won the NP lottery i would buy a pirate paint brush for my daughter who wants our Grizz_Lee_bear *the Neopets one* to be a pirate. then i would bank the rest if there was any and save it for a rainy day.

 

What are you going to dress-up as for Halloween? - Maggie

Renee - We will be traveling (see other post), so wont likely get to this year. But, I do love to dress up! I usually help my daughter though!

Princess Kati - I don’t really know what I want to dress up as for Halloween. I’m thinking about dressing up like a pop star. My favorite part of Halloween is the candy!

Maggie - I plan on being a bank robber. I want to make my own costume though… they are so much better that way you know?

Sweet Talula - and maggie and i have decided to dress up together and go out for halloween. we*re going to be bandits with rhinestone masks and money sacks. =) it*ll be so much fun. can*t wait!

Tiny - I will be dressing up though this year. I am thinking of dressing up as Princess Peach.

Megg - Aww, we dont celebrate Halloween here, but I would totally go as a witch for Halloween. Evil cackle and all.

Audi - So I cant decide what I want to dress up as for halloween because it bases on if I can dress up for work. Last year I dressed up as a zombie and it drove the kids at my work crazy! However this year I might not be able to dress up (different boss) but I would like to dress up as a ghost, that is my favorite

Effie - hmm… i didnt dress up last year, it was kairis first halloween and i was all consumed taking them trick or treating i bought these crazy cool butterfly wings a couple years ago, i may don those again… i might hafta answer this again later i still hafta buy their costumes! *so fired*

Awesome Amy - I’m not sure yet. I’ll be dressing up as something because I am going to my friend’s place for a Halloween bash, but, I have no idea what! (: Probably a witch of some sort!

Bella - I was a water molecul… you know like H2O?? I wore a t-shirt with a big blu O on it and on my head I wore one of those headbands with the two springy things on them, I took off the glittery balls it came with and replaced them with two Styrofoam balls with lette H on them. I did this last year and wow several best costume contests for creativity.

 

What is your favourite TV Show? - Pong

Pong - Mine is Gossip girl and iCarly.

Megg - I watch too much TV - Heroes, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Grey’s Anatomy, House, America’s Next Top Model. I also like a lot of astronomy documentaries, been watching a lot of those lately.

Sweet Talula - hmm, that*s a toughie because i never have time to watch tv, i really like bbc and cnn though. does that count

Emily - I tend to prefer canceled and/or older shows. Right now, I am enjoying Highlander the most. There just is not anything quite like seeing actors pretending to be immortals running around cutting each others (it kills me that I cannot place an apostrophe here) heads off!

Jen Hen - That’s a tough one - I watch more tv than I probably should. I think my top 5 are: Project Runway, Family Guy, Lost, House, and Heroes.

Renee - I have too many! I always have the TV on (even if I’m not really watching it). I guess I have to have that active part of my brain always going. I love watching Three and a Half Men, CSI Miami, House, Boston Legal, Numbers, Biggest Loser, Lipstick Jungle, Desperate Housewives and Criminal Minds. If I’m not working, I tape the shows! Of all of them though, I couldn’t do without House. I know too many doctors actually like him! LOL!!!

Marie - I love RAchael RAy and several others but she is my fav right now.

Effie - since i mostly watch noggin with my kids… id hafta say, the upside down show. definitely, those guys have talent… they crack me up!

Renee - Favorite TV shows - way too many! Depends on what type it is though. Love, love Three and Half Men, all of the CSIs, Boston Legal, and The Big Bang Theory (ROFLOL to that one!) . Oh yeah, cant forget House!! Reminds me of many that I work with!!

Tiny - Well Im having trouble choosing. I dont really have cable so I watch everything on my computer. Right now my favorites are StarGate Atlantis Heroes and Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. Beyond that I watch CSI although the picture is rather grainy so Im not always sure whats going on.

Christina - favourite tv shows would have to be heroes and gossip girl- legenaryyyy *thumbs up*

Bella - Law and Order the original version, Iron Chef and Good Eats (I’m a secret foodie)

Alyssa - My favourite TV show is The Office. Steve Carell is so funny And I love Dwight too. I heard the European office is even funnier. I wanna see it! The other show that I watch ALL THE TIME (but it is kinda embarassing) is America`s Next Top Model. I LOVE THAT SHOW. Plus, I`ve always really wanted to be a model, so it is fun to watch other people do it, I guess.

Triple Amy - Oh that*s a tough tie between Desperate Housewives (high fives Rennee!) and Flashpoint. Now THAT*S a great show!

 

What’s your biggest fear? - Princess Kati

Princess Kati - For me, it’s speaking in front of people.

Megg - I don’t like public speaking either. But I have semi conquered it of late with this communications course I’ve done recently. Had to get up and speak in front of a group of peers. It didn’t go too badly. I used to get migraines on days that I had to do speeches in class, so I think I’ve done pretty well.
Also driving, I’m petrified to get behind the wheel. Sydney drivers are bloomin’ awful!

Emily - I have so many, but I would definitely say I have two that tie for first - fear of falling and fear of heights. I am really a wimp. XD

Jen Hen - Failure. Ridiculous, but true. It makes it really hard for me to try new things, but I’m working on it and getting a lot better. It’s still really scary though.

Renee - Messing up in my job and actually contributing to someone dying. (Yes, my job could do that!). So, I am ever diligent and careful in what I do!!!

Awesome Amy - A lot of people reply to this one with heights, public speaking, death.
But, the only thing that I am truly afraid of is time, because with time comes age, with age comes death, with death comes end.

Bella - I agree with Jen Hen. I have a huge fear of failure. But I also have a phobia Arachibutyrophobia, which laugh if you want is a fear of peanut butter being stuck to the roof of your mouth. I attempt to avoid peanut butter at all costs

 

What’s your fave colour out of red, yellow and blue? - Shavonneyu

Princess Kati - Yellow, like the sun, because my mom called me Sunny when I was a baby. I liked being in the light, especially sunlight.

Megg - I like red. I really wish I had of got my Mazda 3 in red instead of grey - it’s so shiny!

Emily - This is so limiting! However, I suppose since these are the primary colors - it makes sense to be asking out of these three… This is difficult, because alone, none of these colors are to my liking. If I had to pick just one of these, I would say blue…but I am picky about what shade of blue. Ultimately, I would have to say my favorite is a blend of red and blue. Purple is my favorite color - however, I am also picky about the shade of purple! haha. There is no simple answer to this!

Jen Hen - Blue for sure. (But purple is even better ^_^)

Awesome Amy - I really like yellow, it’s a bright colour and I generally seem like a bright person! It suits me!

Bella - Blue! It’s just so relaxing and calming

What is your favorite Olympic event? - Rock Star

Rock Star - Gymnastics, swimming, and fencing. The opening and closing ceremonies are also cool!

Sweet Talula - i’m really enjoying the olympics. a lot more than i remember enjoying them. gymnastics and fencing are my favorites. i love to fence! it looks easy, but it’s super hard. i actually build up a sweat when i practice!

Awesome Amy - My favourite Olympic event is a draw between gymnastics and diving. They are both amazing and they are my fave to watch by a long shot.

Megg - Swimming - not sure why, I guess because we see a lot of it on TV. I’ve been forced to like it? Gymnastics without a doubt. As a former gymnast I can appreciate what these athletes do, they’re amazing!

Pong - Im not a sports fan at all but I just love the opening and closing ceremonies. : )

Audi - my faves are the swimming and equestrian events.

Maggie - I love gymnastics a lot. I know that is a common answer but I just really like it…

Bella - I love fencing having been a fencer and all. But I much prefer the winter Olympics to the summer Olympics, because I adore ice skating, bobsled and skiing.

Dove Donna - Beach volleyball by far I never missed watching a game. IT"S AWESOME

Sweet Talula - i think mine is between a snorkle and a babaa. so cute!

Megg - I adore Hassees, Spardels, Quetzals and probably a kazillion of others.

Maggie - My favorite petpet would have to be the pandaphant! So cute!

Rock Star - My favorite petpet is the albriss. I painted her ghost to match my xweetok.

Bella - I have a few favorites… Spardel, Darblat, Gwalla and of course Lutra

Jen Hen - Shocket. I don’t really know why, but I think they are fun looking Zavinn has one for a petpet if you want to check it out and see what they look like.

Awesome Amy - Meowclops for sure, I’d love one of those one eyed critters! I also think Mazzew’s and Harris’s are kinda cute!

 

If you could have any one item in Neopia for free, what would it be? - Princess Kati

Princess Kati - For me, it would be Glittery Faerie Dust.

Megg - I think it would have to be a Ylana Skyfire Plushie. I love her to bits.

Maggie - My dream Item would be the Kayla Usuki Doll. I have a fetish for usuki items. Hopefully one day I will start a collection.

Sweet Talula - If i could have any one thing on neopets it would have to be my old account back… hmmph. but i’d settle with two or three paint brushes.

Cook Michael - Tough one. I*d love to get a hot dog for my gallery, but I think I would get the most expensive stamp possible, sell it, and then buy loads of other things

Bella - I think I would like to get my hands on a Maverick Plushie for my Gallery… there is currently one available and it*s more than 50 million, though the Cortzan Stamp would also be great for my gallery… hmmm

 

What’s your favorite cookies, and why? - Juliette

Lola Kat - I like those girlscout cookies that used to be called caramel delights (might still be). I like the crunch and chew of the caramel and cookie. Second to that I like cookies that I make from scratch and I’ll just throw whatever into them like toffee chips.

Plushie Alexandra - I love cookies, but I really like chewy chocolate chip cookies, and sugar cookies. Yummy!!!!

Rock Star - I love chocolate chip and sugar cookies!

Bella - I love snickerdoodle cookies, which are basically sugar cookies with cinnamon, though some people like to add nuts or chocolate chips to them.

Jenny Lynn - Prolly chocolate chip, my stepmom makes really good ones. They are puffy and kinda chewy. I have a vanilla wafer addiction at the moment, but that will pass and i do not know if you consider that a cookie.

Awesome Amy - Choc chip. No doubt about it, I don’t really know why but I think that chocolate chip cookies are amazingly tasty!

Dove Donna - brownies because you can do many things with then frost, make turtle ones by adding caramel & chocolate break into chunks for ice cream ect

Triple Amy - My all time fav is the girl guide ones, with the mint in the middle! Mmmm! After that, I*m pretty much an equal oppotunity cookie eater! As long as they*re soft, they*re my tummy*s friends!

Megg - I tend to eat banana flavoured things. I love a good banana cake! Yum, it’s one of my favourite cakes. I like bananas in cereal as well, mmm.

Samantha - I’ve never liked bananas. Everyone I know thinks I’m weird, but I think they are weird.

Amy - I love bananas! Today I had Banana Split cake. It was soooo good. And I love the smell of bananas. I entered a pet in the contest once, and voted once.

Lola Kat - I have a weird reaction to bananas and they make my mouth burn a little so I don’t eat them that often. Sometimes I’ll really want to and just deal with it but most of the time I don’t.

Lily - Bananas are awesome, because they and pears are like the only fruit I eat other than smoothies. They just disappoint me because the potassium doesn’t burst into flame when you put a banana in water ;_; There go my dreams…

Rock Star - I like bananas. I didn’t know so many people didn’t like them!

Bella - Yuck! I hate raw bananas. In fact the smell of a raw banana makes me sick to my stomach… on the other hand I LOVE grilled banana, dried bananas and even fried plantains. Cooking them makes them so much sweeter.

Jenny Lynn - I typically like bananas quite a bit, Banana splits, banana split blizzards, banana with pb, i saw that banana milkshakes with honey are good for when you make yourself not feel well *shifty eyes* have not tried that yet though. I have not had a banana cake I have been wondering about that, especially with sprinkles, but oh well. I have not actually eaten a whole banana since first grade, like peeled one and took a bite. i am scared of them. I lost my tooth in a banana and i can not just bite into one since then. I know that i was little and my tooth was loose and it was a baby tooth, but still i can not do it. *shivers*

Awesome Amy - Banana’s don’t really tickle my fancy all that much, I guess they’re okay but I’ll only eat them if I absolutely have to.

Cook Michael - *Insert smiley being sick* Bananas are evil things. The texture of them is just urgh!

 

Do you enter your pets in the Customisation Spotlight? How often do you vote in the Customisation Spotlight? - Megg

Amy - I entered a pet in the contest once, and voted once.

Lily - I don’t really care about customizing my pets, except for Ynaa, who looks AWESOME thanks to Customization, rofl. I never look at or vote in the Spotlight though, doesn’t really seem like a talent to me.

Rock Star - I like to enter my pets in the customization spotlight. I was trying to get more wearables for my pets, but that has been put on hold since I am trying to get the secret laboratory map set. I got the cheapest piece! Anyways, I vote if I don’t have anything to do.

Jenny Lynn - Nope, still no baby clothes, plus FLox is so random looking haha, I put just about anything on her. Flur is so cute half Bionic looking, maybe I should enter him. What about you? Oh and i’ve never voted in that.

Awesome Amy - Haha, no! I didn’t even know there was such a thing! I’m so behind! xD

And since the Altador Cup is coming up, what team do you support? - Star Girl Aimee and Yoza

Megg - First year I supported Mystery Island, the year after I supported Shenkuu. This year, I’ll probably go Shenkuu again since I love all things Shenkuu. Although if Kreludor participate this year (and I have a really strong feeling they might since the Sloth plot earlier on in this year), I might consider joining their team, maybe. But it’s going to be tough to decide.

Eddie - I relized that the Altador Cup is coming up soon again, And I am rooting for Kwark Island. Woot.

Mei - I am thinking about picking Shenkuu. No real reason just they did okay this year, or I guess last year so maybe… You must really love Kois if that is the reason you are picking Maraqua. They are so cute though.

Lola Kat - I will probably be doing haunted woods again for my team this year for altador cup. I did it the first year from the get go (after using their team selector) and then second year so why not. I am horrible at the cup game so it is not like I actually contribute much other than moral support.

Neodragon - This is just my first month on on Neopets,so far,I like Shenkuu the most,so I guess..Shenkuu!

Audi - Haunted Woods, that was the team I chose in the first Altador Cup so Im going to stick with it. I hope the Cup starts soon!

Bella - I haven’t completely decided but I am leaning toward Roo Island, which I during the First Cup. I am also hoping to have some free time to actually play it this year.

Jenny Lynn - I’m with Altador have been for 3 years now, they have an Elephante goalie, very cute. And I like Roman/Greekesque things(has to do with the 5 years of Latin). I would feel bad choosing a different team, plus i’m not sure who’d i’d choose, maybe if someone else gets an Elephante . . .

Cook Michael - Krawk Island. Every year, and will continue to be with them every year If they should ever not enter, then I couldn*t play for anyone else. My loyalties are tied

 

What do you think of TNT allowing pets to be traded? - Princess pretty__princess_14

Princess pretty__princess_14 - I’m against it. I think it’s just makes it easier for people to be scammed. I think TNT is starting to give in to the people who don’t want to abide by the rules. I mean, at first they were completely against pet trading and now they’re allowing it. Maybe they still frown upon pet trading, but I think they never should have allowed it in the first place. The pound is being abused now more than ever. Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder if the same thing would happen if people were allowed to trade actual animals. I’d feel sorry for every one of them.

Mei - I personally like that your pets can be traded because it makes it so much easier with side accounts and everything. But you are right it is an easier way to be scammed. Much easier. Just be careful with it.

Aytrus Andrew - I agree with you on the trading. I don’t like it at all. It just starts up a whole new set of problems with scammers. With the new transfer system there was bound to be people trying to trade anyway but TNT giving it a green light purely because of this reason just means that everyone will just go ahead and do it. I can see a whole lot of problems starting because of this. Hopefully if such problems do arise then the team will do something about it as soon as possible.

Megg - I don’t mind the pet trading… I think it would be wiser to do it with someone you know, though. I wouldn’t trade a pet with someone who I just met on the NeoBoards.

Bella - I have had bad feelings about it this whole time. If your account is hacked someone could easily steal your favorite neopet by sending it to themselves. I mean it’s great that they limit the number of transfers each month, but I think about each of my pets as kids and to lose one would be heartbreaking. (Yes I know they are pixels but I’ve had each of them almost 8 years each - except Amach)

Lola Kat - There was a question about pet trading… People have been doing that forever through the pound and it was ok then and at your own risk then. I don’t want to trade any of my pets and I don’t don’t do that whole application process for the pets I adopt, lab map and repound so I have little use for the transfer option.
I’d imagine that plenty of people are going to get their pets stolen or tricked into things they didn’t intend. And I’m sure there will be some black market for desirable pets even though taking points or items for a pet isn’t allowed it won’t stop it from happening.

Jenny Lynn - I’m up for trading Neopets, but only really for avatars and to go to a side account, or to zap for someone else something like that, so it’s not such a gamble with the pound.

Awesome Amy - I think it’s a supercalafragalistic idea! They took their time to get the pound up and running again and now, I appreciate the fact that they are trying to improve it in many ways. I am definitely on TNT’s side with this idea!

Cook Michael - I*ve traded two neopets since it was introduced, and I think it is a handy tool to have. I do think it is too open to abuse though. The 1 pet transfer a month will help to stop that though.
