Guild Council

It’s time to meet your Council Members… those crazy people who do… erm lots of stuff in the Guild.

Megg - nbngallery
Aloha chickens! My name is Megan, but I’m usually called Megg. Don’t ask about the double ‘g’, I don’t even know, hehe. I’m 31 and live in Sydney, Australia. I’ve lived here for about 10 years now, I’m originally from a small town in the middle of Australia called Alice Springs. If you’re from Alice, drop me an email as I would love to hear from you!

I’ve been playing Neopets for over 5 years now and I’m still as addicted as I was on my first day. I found Neopets through a banner ad while I was looking for fonts. I was over in the US at the time on holiday visiting my husband. My first few weeks were pretty intense playing Neopets, I would be up to all hours of the morning restocking Faeries and magic items to sell. I was probably playing Neopets up to 20 hours a day! When I first started playing Mystery Island was being introduced and I remember being so confused?! My current goals are to paint one of my pets as a Royal Boy Grundo.

I’ve been married for 7 years now to Mr B. I have a cat named Knox, but he is often called Jelly or Princess. I enjoy reading - Harry Potter is just awesome. I love music, I can pretty much listen to anything, well except metal, I especially love Goldfinger and Sum 41. I’m thoroughly addicted to the Neopets TCG and have so many cards it’s not even funny. My current obsession is the Neopets McDonald’s Happy Meal Plushies - gotta get them all!

Jenny - auntyjade
I’m Jenny, but you can call me Aunty, Jade, or better yet, The Almighty Slorg Mistress, or Slorg Queen. I’m originally from Northeastern Connecticut, I grew up in the same house my father grew up in. I recently moved to Arkansas to be with the love of my life. I now live about 2 hours northeast of Little Rock. I’m totally loving the south, the food is great and the weather is even greater! I love all kinds of music, from ‘oldies’ to today’s music. I even like broadway show tunes … does that make me odd? probably, but variety is after all the spice of life. My taste in movies is also varied, though I tend more towards Romantic Comedy. My all time favorite movies include Never Been Kissed and Armageddon. I also read a lot, and will read almost anything I get my hands on, when I was a kid, I would even read the Children’s Encyclopeadia set my sister and I had.

My younger sister started me out on Neopets, and I’ve pretty much been playing since January of 2000, but my first account was lost to a hacker that March, so I started over again. I’ve been here long enough to remember when you’d get free Neopoints daily if you were ‘carrying’ no points when you logged in, when items like apples, tomatoes and broccoli could be gotten for free from the shops, and when you could read the same book to all of your pets then share it with someone else. What I like most about Neopets is the opportunity it gave me to meet and make friends with people from all over the world.

PS… Save the Slorg ;)

Christine - bernardinicm
I Dream Of A Better Tomorrow ~ Where Chickens Can Cross The Road Without Having Their Motives Questioned.

I’m Christine in Alaska, but am affectionately ~I hope!~ known as PlumCrazy Chris. I’m married to an Italian named Joe. We’re both government bureaucrats, which is how we met. We have 2 kids, Anthony and Jessica, both members of our guild. Ant is ninja_fire_ant, and Jessie is wolfie559933. They’re responsible for introducing me to Neopets. Although I am forever 35 in Neopia, I am, by far, the eldest chicken in the Coop.

When I’m not in Neopia, I like reading cozy murder mysteries, particularly those of female sleuths by authors like Janet Evanovich, Sue Grafton, and J A Jance. I’m also a great fan of J K Rowlings and Dan Brown. West Wing is my fav TV show, and I like Medium, ER, Desperate Housewives, and gravitate to Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, Nero Wolfe, and other PBS/Bravo series. My favorite movies are all the Harry Potters, Pirates of the Caribbean, Contact, and MIB. My music tastes are eclectic, particularly ’60s Motown, reggae, jazz, country, soft rock, and adult contemporary. More boring info: I’m an alumnae of Oregon State University, with degrees in Forestry / Resource Management and Sociology.

I’m a certified planner, and have worked for the Municipality of Anchorage for 25 years, primarily in transportation planning, where I administer federal funds for constructing the major roads and highways in the area. I am definitely looking forward to retiring, although I’ll probably be stuck here for another 3 years. ~sigh~ I’m also a PADI-certified scuba diver, and love the tropics, especially the Caribbean islands of Barbados, St Maarten, and the Caymans. I used to travel extensively, but that was before I got married and had kidz.

Jesse - breck03
I go by Jesse, mostly because it’s my real name. I’m not particularly a fan of it - I’d go by my middle name, but I like "Ross" even less. I’m 23 now, and have been on NBN for…some time. Probably in excess of 3 weeks. I’m horrible at remembering dates; time is my one true enemy.

I’m from Orleans, Indiana - home of the…well…nothing. I’m 23, and currently residing in Hanover, Indiana and going to college in Madison, Indiana. This year will mark my 5th year as a college student and, as yet, I have no degree. I keep changing my mind on degrees, so I have wads of credits, but no diplomas. I’ve recently discovered that I’ll have an associate’s degree in Fine Arts at the end of this term without my intentionally planning for it. While I’m a full-time student, I also do a lot of regional theatre work. I’ve acted in several shows, directed a few, and edited a few scripts that a playwright friend of mine has had professionally performed. I’d like to be a stage actor for a profession, though a lot of success in that career would be based strictly on luck.

I still love LEGOs, and I have a room of my current apartment totally devoted to them. I’m also a total geek when it comes to Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Power Rangers. As for more adult geekdom, I’m one of the few rabid fans of both Star Trek and Star Wars. I’m also a huge Nintendo fan, and very loyal to the brand - love my Wii! (As you can guess, I’m quite single at the moment.) I have an 11-year old dog named Cagney at home who’s a great buddy, and I always miss her here at my apartment. I drive a midnight blue 2007 Solstice and a light blue 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass.

In 1998, I had a heart transplant. I was never sick a day in my life before that year-long episode; a fluke virus just settled into my heart and destroyed it. I have to take lots and lots of medications for the rest of my life, but I suppose it’s better than the alternative! I do a lot of charity work for organ donation groups now. (Remember folks, donate your organs! We don’t take them ’til you’re done with them anyway!)

Chris - vizerdrix
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy… Oh wait! Wrong story! Not too long ago (if you’re a mountain), was born an infant girl (the poor mother was relieved that she was an infant, as giving birth to an adult, or even a toddler, would have been quite painful). She was named Christine, but she quickly took the name Chris, since it doesn’t take as long to write!

She grew up in a small city outside of of Canada’s Capital (which would be Ottawa, for those of you that are geographically challenged), and quickly learned that the company of animals is preferable to the company of people, with some exceptions.

To that effect, she presently resides (with her husband, who is an animal) with three cats, two cockatiels, a peach-face lovebird, a red-bellied parrot, and a 65 gallon aquarium containing five big fancy goldfish, a pl*co (don’t ask), and occasionally, when the fish don’t eat them, snails.

Her children (more animals!), Justin, Caryn, and Caelly come to stay every other weekend.

She desperately wants to get a dog, but her husband (that animal!) will not let her. So, encouraged by her children (rather, wanting to know what they were fighting over the computer about all the time) she turned to a virtual pet site on the internet. Needing a suitable alias, she tried all of her usual ones and, in frustration at having them already taken (the NERVE of some people!) picked the name of a card from Magic: The Gathering. She was so upset by this time that she misspelled the name, but, it was accepted and thus she became known as Vizerdrix (shortened to Viz, since it doesn’t take as long to write!). She joined a Guild of like-minded folks, who quickly got her addicted to collecting Avatars.

When she is not on Neopets, she enjoys working in her garden and taking care of her many houseplants. She specializes in cactus and succulents, as well as trying her hand at growing orchids. She likes to vacation in Florida, soaking up the sun while laughing at the Ottawa residents that are still stuck in the cold and snow.

Former Council Members

Eric Almighty - dungmaster145
So you’d like to know more about Eric Almighty, eh? Well to start, my name is Eric but I am commonly referred to as Eric Almighty, Dungman, Almighty Dung, Mr. Dung, King of Dung, and other flattering names. I am 18 and live in the sweltering Houston, Texas. I’ve lived here all my life and one of these days I’ll go someplace nice and cold. I am a graduate of a insanely large High School and should be starting College in the Spring of 2005. I’ve been playing Neopets for about 5 years but the first year I was in a different account and I wasn’t all that active. I’ve been going through different account due to some unfortunate events but will never be able to rid myself of Severe Neopets Obsessive Syndrome (or SNOS). Oh, I also have a gigantic obsession with Dung! How could you resist loving the tasty, awesome substance found all over Neopia?! I have a dog named Pumpkin who is the cutest and Almightyest widdle puppy ever! Um…some say I’m weird but I think I’m just different. Why on Neopia would I be Weird?! *shoves Dung Cream Sandwiches in mouth*

Lillian - lilaznbabydoll
Helloooo, I’m Lillian! I’m a junior in high school in Southern California which keeps me occupied for the majority of the time. I’m enjoying high school but am patiently awaiting college for a change of scene and a bit of independence (there’s the angsty teenager side for ya!).
Recently being forced to think about the future by so many people has inspired me to create a little ‘what I’d like to do before I die’ list: Go bungee jumping to cure my fear of heights, publish a book, travel the world, and learn to write and speak at least 5 languages fluently (English, Vietnamese (just need to learn how to write it), and I’m learning Spanish at the moment…).
I discovered Neopets a few years ago and got hooked on the virtual world aspect of it. I’m not quite as addicted now but I do stop by then and again to catch up on updates and the guild. My favorite pets are Chias of course, particularly my o0Blobbers0o which ironically isn’t a Chia at the moment.
You can often find me reading, writing, web designing (for fun), playing random games, and generally being a little crazy (just a little bit ;-) The two obsessions that I never think I’ll lose are books and funky earrings… luckily my nonexistent wallet prevents me from buying all the classic novels and odd 80’s earrings I run across. I’ll normally just listen to whatever is on the radio but I prefer R&B and pop rock (and occasionally hip hop when the urge to dance comes… beware!).
I’ll see YOU around at the guild!
