Getting to Know You

I am an artist/designer, and a writer. My art and design tends to be whimsical, hence the name WhimsiKat. :)

Except for the company of my family and 4 life-long friends, I am a loner but am competent enough in almost any social situation. I prefer to hang out in the mountains alone or with one other quiet person, and commune with nature, to being in cities or society. I love trees, mountains, ocean and birds, and all things strange, magickal and mystickal. I am an avid reader, an armchair activist, and profoundly interested in the economies of the world.

I’m seventeen years old and I live in Scotland. I’m currently a student studying Interactive multimedia but its more of a passion than just something to learn about, if you get me?

As of the 23rd of July 09 I’m one of the newbies of Neopets and the NBN guild. I had a Neopets account a few years back but Its long forgotten, this one however will not be.

Anyways I’m a bundle of fun so if you want to chat then go ahead, I don’t bite much!

I’m not terribly social in the real world, but I am quite friendly and always welcome making new friends. My speaking goes on and on forever when I write, but I rarely speak in person. I enjoy photography, graphic design, writing letters, journaling, and reading. Classic literature is my favorite thing to read, though I’ll give most things a try. I consider myself a dreamer and a writer, though I don’t have a job that has anything to do with writing at all. I write poetry, stories, and I’ve completed a screenplay. I don’t have anything productive to do with these things I write, but it’s fun to put your energy into something from inside yourself and let your creative side come out to play!

I’m a mix of British, French, Czechoslovakian, and Hungarian. The first two being on my maternal side, and the latter on my paternal. When I say my surname to someone, they cannot figure out how to spell it. And when people see it written down, they cannot figure out how to say it! It’s a funny situation. My native language is English, of course, but I also speak French and Japanese.

Music is a big love of mine. There are a lot of varied genres that I enjoy select artists from. I like random fringe bands and artists such as Elvis Costello, Public Image Limited, Morrissey, and The Cure. I also like Assemblage 23, Depeche Mode, Covenant, Echo & the Bunnymen, Apoptygma Berzerk, Razed In Black, Endanger… and a bunch of little known Japanese bands. I love to dance so I tend to adore EBM and synthpop artists.

The goals I have (though they are few) are to move to New York and donate my time to volunteer work. Especially work related to animal rights and animal rescue. My biggest dream is to travel to Japan to spend time with my best friend, Tomo, whom lives in Osaka.

I’m 21 years young (since July 2008), live in Belgium, Europe, and I own 13 cats. I quit my studies after two years of university, as I got really tired of it, and have a lovely day job now at a books distribution company, which I quite like.

Speaking of books, I’m an avid reader (mostly fantasy, science fiction, and horror books) as well as a writer of my own stories (mostly short ones) and hoping to one day getting something big published.

Other hobbies I have are gaming (mostly Nintendo games, especially Pokémon, the Legend of Zelda, Smash Bros, and several Mario and Wario game), watching television (series and movies, mostly), and playing Scrabble (Dutch version). I’m part of a Scrabble club in Belgium, played several tournaments and became regional champion once, my best achievement to date.

On Neopets I’m a bit of everything and know a lot of everything. If you check my account, you can already see I love collecting plenty of things, and I must say I’m not bad at games, not terrible at battling, and not saying no to any plot event. And I gather all the info I can about Neopets, so the site has very little to no secrets to me. Want to know something related to Neopets, and I’m 99% sure I can answer you or know where to find the answer.

On nBn I’m mainly a guide writer, trying to help everyone as much as I can with my gathered knowledge. :) So if you ever have a question, contact me, that crazy Orange Slorg.

I’m also crazy about Slorgs, the colour Orange, and the letter Q. But I may have already mentioned that.

Well, I love drawing and reading, and was said to be a graphic designer. I was dared to enter a design-a-yearbook-contest, by my mom and uncle, and won, but right now I lost my programs and stuff due to switching computers, also I’m not as good as Megg! Also excellent at writing, and pretty bad at musical compositions. Very excellent at the field of science, currently competing with the smartest person I know in class, right now I’m .2% above this person’s grade, and it is pretty challenging, and sometimes simple, and was recommended taking AP Chemistry at freshman year (but then turned down to take AP Human Geography instead. XD) Definitely an over achiever. Loves hockey, football, softball. Dogs never cats!

As for the awesome virtual world of Neopets, Jetsams are my faves, I just love their fierce look. Currently practicing CSS and HTML and how they work. Addicted to Baby neopets, but Draik is the ultimate dream. Altador Cup fanatic, will play 24/7 if possible to help Darigan Citadel, but sorry Lord Darigan, I’m probably with the pirates at AC4. nBn is the coolest guild and I know you are going to agree on that. Right Megg? :D

I am a human resources consultant, and I work from home, which means that I can sometimes play Neopets during work hours ^_^ –It’s good to be your own boss! he he–

I am a very fun person - or so I have been told… he he- and I love helping others out. Hence, if you ever need a hand for anything, let me know ^_^.

In terms of my Neopets goals, I am currently trying to get some NPs to get rare backgrounds, NPs and I might start hunting for paintbrushes later, but for now, I have already achieved my first goal: I bought the secret lab map and the petpet lab map, and I am having a fun-zapping-time!

I’m 19, in college, and stressing out about what I’m supposed to do with my life. I’m studying biology, psychology, and biomedical engineering (phew!)

Starbucks is my soul mate, and my favorite places are bookstores, libraries, and coffee shops (i’m a nerd, what can i say?).

I consider myself a boring person, but not in the dull manner. I love boring. I love my boring. I don’t like drama, but apparently drama is life. It always finds me in some form or another. C’est la vie. No, I do not speak French. I do not have a knack for languages. Is it ironic that I am a current full-time college English major and art history minor? Maybe not. You decide. :P

I have played neopets for many years but canceled my oldest account eons ago and my other one was frozen recently due to an accidental dirty word I typed in one of my guild posts. *gasps* I must have been in a heated mood and seriously not thinking, but I so wanted to share it with all of you guys! I don’t even think it was that wretched of a word. I begged to have my account unfrozen, but alas… rules were broken and apparently can not be bent (although I have never made any offense before and received no warning). How ridiculous! Anyway, enough about this rant…

Oh yes, I am quite "rantish" and usually about nothing in particular (as is evident). Sometimes I even overstate the obvious. It’s fun. ;) Then again, at other times I say nothing. It’s weird. ? ha. I maintain my own domain, although I am really bad with its upkeep. So sad.

I love music (minus rap and country, although SOME rap can be good…I like the beats and I will admit the older country is tolerable) and am a pretty big fan of the "alternative band" thenewno2 (look them up). My favorite guitarist/musician of all time is George Harrison (check him out, his music is awesome). I love so many other artists and bands that I doubt I’d have enough room to type them all out… nor would I want to spend that much time when I could be sleeping!

There are so many other topics and activities I love and hate, but again… it would take way too much time to sit here and list them. It would be insanity times infinity. It would be breaking the limits of sublimity… oh wait: there are no limits to sublimity!! Oh boy, yes… I need sleep (I love staying up late at night, it’s so peaceful). So, I will leave this at that and hope it’s a satisfactory introduction. If you care to know more, ask away (but do not always expect an answer…some things are best left unsaid). ;)

I’m Erika, more commonly known in the guild as Silver. I’ve been a member of the guild since 2003 but I disappeared without so much as a mention and then magically poofed back into existence late last year.

I was born on July, year 1988. I live in the Philippines. I was in the Accountancy program in my college but after three years in the course, I decided to shift to Banking and Finance. I’m graduating this March and only time knows what shall occur next… well, that… or I miraculously manage to make up my mind and put off procrastination…

We have a collectable card shop, Millennium, in the Neopia Central, which is steadily increasing in size. Spyro is our shopkeeper and Aoi deals with our supplier, the main collectable card shop (and we wish, very much so, that the day would come when the buzz salesclerk there finally reveals to us his name). As for me, I hunt for bargains in the trading post to add to our stock.

I have access to the lab ray, am fond of submitting pets to it, and transferring them out to the citizens of neopia.

Contrary (or perhaps not contrary) to how I may seem like, I am a lazy person. Sure, I take care of my responsibilities, however, I am lazy in nature. I sleep late and wake up late. I am, most of the time, tardy for my first period classes and I rarely attend any extra activities that has nothing to do with school work (aka social gatherings). I would rather stay at home than go out for recreation. But if food is involved, then I would consider it. I am fond of eating and drinking. A small trivia about me is that I don’t drink soda or anything alcoholic. I simply can not develop a taste for it. As for food, I’ll try anything at least once.

I like games, mostly console ones; I favor role-playing games. I’m also fond of watching movies. I like to write and am fond of literary roleplaying, mostly in the action/adventure genre. Feel free to converse with me about those among other topics.

A final note… Snowbunnies are evil. Please be wary of them… at all times…

Welcome to the guild! My name is Poetess Jen, also known as Jen Hen (or just plain Jen if you prefer). I’m 24 years old and have been on neopets since I was 15. (Wow, that’s kind of a long time). I’ve been a member of this spectacular guild for over a year, but I’m not around as much as I used to be. :(

In college I studied psychology and English, and now I’m volunteering full time in a men’s homeless shelter. It’s kind of crazy, but I really love my job, most of the time. Plus, I love the fact that I’m not in school anymore so I can read the things I want to read. *sigh of contentment*

On Neopets, Kreludor is my favorite land, and I’m super crazy about Grundos. I think I have about 10 of them. I also play neoquest a lot and pretty much tinker about in all of the aspects of the site, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Hi everyone, I’m Elle (pronounced like the letter L). I used to play Neopets in 2000 (wow it was so different back then), but quit in 2002. Now I am back, however, and I am greatly enjoying my time in the guild and taking part in every thing I can. I don’t remember all that much but things are coming back little by little and I am more than willing to help out with stuff if I can. On Neopets I am doing what I can to get some good collections going and making friends.

As for a bit about myself, I am 27 and live in the US of A. I was really into competitive sports from elementary through college. My dream was to go to the Olympics, got pretty close too, but I had to quit due to a serious injury. I didn’t really know what to do with myself after that so I just worked hard to complete my undergrad degrees. After finishing school I went and taught English in Japan. These days I am getting ready to go back to school for my Master’s in Landscape Architecture.

Let’s see, what else. I have a cat and a cactus plant, I love both to pieces. My hobbies and interests are drawing, reading, writing, painting, cooking, and a million other things I can’t think of to type up. Some day I plan to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test again and pass it this time at level 2 (I was so close last time!). I think that is about it. If you ever want to chat I am just a neomail away!

Hi! I’m Renee *waves*. I’ve been on Neopets for 3 years. I’m almost 44 years old though no one ever guesses my age (I still get carded!) *tee hee* I live in Columbia, SC with my two beautiful daughters Mila (doesn’t like to use her real name here) aka Blood_Stryke and Heather aka vojhsyh (not in this guild). Heather is a junior studying Biomaterials Engineering with a minor in mathematics and plans to go to Medical school. She’s a junior though she’s only been there two years. She’s in the honors college as a Calhoun Scholar (top 10% of the college). She is also a Dixon Fellow. She’s a great kid!

Mila is a sophomore at her high school and is in a school within the school called the School for the Arts. She is a great artist! She plans to go to Art College.

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband Mark for 20 years! He’s retired from the Army after 24 years of service (retired 4 years ago). He now works for a brickyard as a kiln watchman and runs the plant at night.

As for me, I’m a Nurse Practitioner. For those of you that don’t know what that is (as many still get NP’s confused with an LPN/LVN), I am a registered nurse with a master’s degree and I practice primary care. What that means is that I can see and treat patients much like a physician does! I do about 90% of what a physician does and can defer to the physician if a patient is too complex. I can write prescriptions, order tests, refer patients, make diagnoses, etc. I can even suture, manage abscesses, and more! I love what I do!

I do neopets to escape my job though as it can be stressful! I love avatar hunting, playing KQ, working on my neohome, and keeping my shop stocked. My hobbies outside of neopets include doing Girl Scouts with my girls, sewing, computers, decorating, and hanging out with friends! If anyone ever needs help on neopets or nBn, just drop me a note! My friends request is closed unless I know you, so e-mail me first! I have had some difficulty with some harassment from someone outside the guild, so it was necessary. Thanks for understanding!
