VS
The finals have been set- the last 32 days of play have been leading up to this moment! TNT’s tables are difficult to read thanks to no labels saying who won or who lost, but through some clever detective work we can declare the match for the Cup to be between Krawk Island and Shenkuu. Both teams have been consistently strong throughout the Cups history, and one team will finally get the recognition they deserve. Lost Desert and Kreludor meanwhile play-off for the respectable third place.
In second tier, Mystery Island and Maraqua meet each other again for the top spot while Darigan play-off with Tyrannia. This match is significant on the nBn side- BB is a loyal Darigan Citadel follower while Pasqui plays for Tyrannia. Third tier sees two former champions meet for a more humble position as Haunted Woods face Roo Island, while Virtupets feel the heat of playing out of their league and play-off against Meridell for third place. And finally, bottom tier has the comparatively strong Kiko Lake match up against Terror Mountain, while the classic Altador vs Faerieland match shows once more as these teams fight to stay out of last place.
It’s the end of the road- Good luck to all teams, regardless of position, and we eagerly await the crowning of the new champion. Krawk Island or Shenkuu- who will take the gold?
—
Krawk Island or Shenkuu- who do you think will win this year? What position is your team fighting for? Happy or disappointed with your teams’ position? And how well have you done in your own regard this year? Let us know!
Of course, it’s not the end for those teams not in the top tier! The games continue with these teams fighting for domination of their own tiers! Second Tier contains the mighty Darigan Citadel, who only just missed out on a top place, Mystery Island who have been wildcard destroyers from the start, Tyrannia who snuck their way in with their stealthy lead in the side games, and Maraqua who became a powerhouse giant in the later stages of the double round robin. Third Tier is nailbitingly closely contested with Haunted Woods, Roo Island and Meridell all taking a place. They’re joined by Virtupets who earned their place almost exclusively through shootout showdown games- will this be enough to see them doing damage in their tier? Finally Fourth Tier contains the disappointed Kiko Lake who, despite a good showing in the middle rounds, simply ran out of steam. They’re joined by Terror Mountain, Altador, and Faerieland. Even in bottom tier there is all to play for, so don’t be disheartened if you’re team is here- show the other bottom tier teams what you’re made of!
Good luck to all players and teams!

Mystery Island does once again what no other team has managed to do yet this Altador Cup: winning against Lost Desert. But this win wasn’t enough to enter Top Tier, nor does this loss cause the Lost Desert to drop into Second Tier.
More importantly is the win of Darigan Citadel in the clash against the other titan Kreludor, while both Krawk Island and Shenkuu won their games, respectively against the Haunted Woods and Meridell. Because of these results, we’re still not sure yet which team has to drop to Second Tier! Although we can now say for sure that Shenkuu will stay in Top Tier. Their Yooyuball record is exactly the same as Darigan Citadel’s results, but at the side games Shenkuu has done just that little bit better, ensuring them their spot in the Top Tier. But who will drop to Second Tier? Darigan Citadel, Krawk Island, or Kreludor? Let’s hope TNT makes the decision quickly.
Haunted Woods lost all their games yesterday, while Tyrannia won everything against Faerieland, and Roo Island won overall against Terror Mountain. So the last open spot for Second Tier is also still open to any of these three teams. Roo Island is only one Yooyuball win behind on the Haunted Woods, but has three draws more. Is this enough to kick them out of the Second Tier, or will those extra wins at the side games ensure the Haunted Woods to still have done better than Roo Island? And then Tyrannia. With 63 wins at the side games, definitely this year’s winners of the side games title, they have 34 wins more at them than the Haunted Woods, while having only three Yooyuball wins less than them. This can be enough to jump over both the Haunted Woods and Roo Island, entering Second Tier.
Maraqua didn’t lose a single time the second round robin. Only a shame they didn’t start winning one or two days earlier… then they too could have been in the Top Tier. Their win against Kiko Lake yesterday can cause the Kikos to drop to Fourth Tier though, as Virtupets won their game against Altador. With only 2 Yooyuball wins behind, but being the champions at Shootout Showdown, it is quite likely all that shouting paid off and lets the space team enter Third Tier.
It is still waiting for the actual Tiers. With all these close results, it can take some time before TNT figured out which team has to be in which Tier. Nonetheless we can already say, this year it has definitely been the most exciting Altador Cup yet, and we have yet to start the finals! Which unexpected results will we get there? Oh the tension…

The clash between the titans Altador and Faerieland ends up with Faerieland overtaking Altador at Yooyuball. This brings Faerieland’s total of wins at 2, after winning against Virtupets the day before. Only a shame it’s almost over, just now Faerieland is finally getting into the games. Maybe next year?
Both the matches of Krawk Island vs. Maraqua, and Roo Island vs. Shenkuu end up in a draw, while the Lost Desert, Darigan Citadel, Kreludor, and Mystery Island won their games. With only one more day to go this Double Round Robin, we can be certain now that only 5 teams are competing anymore for the Top Tier positions. Maraqua really did their best the second round robin, without a single loss so far, but the draw against Krawk Island got rid of their chance to enter Top Tier. Even if Maraqua manages to win the last game, and all the other top teams lose, their lack of wins at the side games will cause them to stick at the Second Tier.
Today shows the final day of the Double Round Robin, and still not everything’s sure. Lost Desert is the only team who can be certain to be in the Top Tier. They have the most wins and the least losses (only one) at Yooyuball, and their wins at the side games almost equal the amount of wins at them of both Darigan Citadel and Shenkuu. Today shows Lost Desert’s second match against Mystery Island, the only team who managed to win against them this year. Can Mystery Island redo this, bringing everything closer again?
But the more important matches today are those of Krawk Island vs. Haunted Woods, Shenkuu vs. Meridell, and especially the top match Darigan Citadel vs. Kreludor. If Krawk Island still wants a chance to be in the top tier, then they have to win their game today. Although, with only one win less at Yooyuball, and several wins more at the side games than both Darigan Citadel and Shenkuu, it is likely they’re already certain of entering Top Tier no matter what the outcome today is. But if Krawk Island loses or draws today, and both Shenkuu and Darigan win, then they’ll be two wins behind at Yooyuball… and that can be one too many.
Shenkuu can’t be confident either. If they lose or draw, and both Krawk Island and Darigan Citadel win their games, then the few wins more at the side games than Darigan Citadel will most likely not be enough to outdo the one win more at Yooyuball the Citadel will have, making them drop to the 5th place and losing their spot in the Top Tier.
But whether or not both Krawk Island and Shenkuu win their games, the Top Tier will be really determined by the outcome of the match Kreludor vs. Darigan Citadel. Darigan Citadel needs the win more than Kreludor to be certain of staying in the Top Tier, as Kreludor is almost certain to be in the Top Tier thanks to all their side games wins. If Darigan Citadel loses or draws against Kreludor, and both Krawk Island and Shenkuu win their games, then Darigan Citadel loses their position in the Top Tier. And Krawk Island may not even have to win, they have more draws than Darigan Citadel at Yooyuball, and quite a few more wins at the side games, so only one win less at Yooyuball may be enough for them to overtake Darigan Citadel.
And as for Kreludor, only one scenario can maybe keep Kreludor away from Top Tier: Losing against Darigan Citadel and both Krawk Island and Shenkuu winning their games. Then they will have one Yooyuball win less than both Darigan Citadel and Shenkuu, and as many as Krawk Island. Kreludor’s side games wins are about equal to Krawk Island’s side games wins, and both these teams have more wins at the side games than both Darigan Citadel and Shenkuu, who also have about an equal amount to eachother. If this happens, then only TNT can tell us which of these 4 teams has to drop down to second tier, as nobody of us will be able to tell.
But not only for the Top Tier there’s competition. While four teams are fighting for the last three positions at the Top Tier, three other teams are competing for the last open spot of the Second Tier. Maraqua and Mystery Island are already certain of being in Second Tier, and one of the four teams fighting for the Top Tier will also take a spot, leaving the last spot open to one of the following: Haunted Woods, Roo Island, or Tyrannia. Meridell is out of the competition for Second Tier, as both Haunted Woods and Roo Island have better results at both Yooyuball and the side games than Meridell. And while the Haunted Woods have more wins at everything than Roo Island, Roo Island has quite a few extra draws at Yooyuball, and if they win their last game, while the Haunted Woods lose, then they’re only one Yooyuball game behind on the Haunted Woods, while having three more draws, and this can be enough. But then there’s also Tyrannia, who might easily win against Faerieland today. If they win, and the other two teams lose or draw (which isn’t unlikely), then they’re only three wins behind on the Haunted Woods at Yooyuball, and with no less than 31 wins more at the side games. That’s a ridiculous amount, and can be enough to outdo those three wins at Yooyuball. And even if the Haunted Woods win their last game, then all those wins at the side games may be enough. Again, only TNT is able to tell, as we don’t know how much the side games are worth.
And no, this is still not everything! Even in the Third and Fourth Tiers there’s still something not sure. Virtupets has to compete against Altador today. Can Altador finally win a game, or will they lose again, giving Virtupets the chance to enter Third Tier? Cause if Virtupets win their game today, and Kiko Lake loses or draws agains Maraqua (who on their turn haven’t lost a single game this second round robin), then Virtupets is only two Yooyuball wins behind on Kiko Lake. Will all their wins at Shootout Showdown pay off and be enough to cover those two Yooyuball wins? If so, then they’re entering the Third Tier, making Kiko Lake drop to Fourth Tier.
It’s the last day of the Double Round Robin, and almost everything still has to be determined before entering the finals. Never ever before has this last day been this important!

Everything happened as expected yesterday- though Faerieland stun the crowds with a surprise last-minute victory against Kiko Lake, their first of the contest! With only two matches left before the finals, Lost Desert are sitting comfortably at the top, almost guaranteed a place in top tier by the end of it. Shenkuu sit tentatively behind with a strong case for top tier, but a few slip ups in the coming games followed by lucky matches for their closest opponents could potentially knock them out, however unlikely. Kreludor and Krawk Island currently sit in the other places left in Top Tier. Darigan Citadel, once table-toppers, are almost out of luck- save for a large upset at the top and stellar play from DC< they may be too late to take anything above top place in second tier. And with Maraqua sitting at their ankles just itching for a chance to overtake them, that too is unlikely. Haunted Woods cling onto the last place of second tier, with Roo Island and Meridell flanking them from behind in hopes of ousting them. Meanwhile silent assassins Tyrannia wait to see how far their record in the side games will take them- could they even push Haunted Woods from their perch?
It’s not over until it’s over, and with the three teams vying for the last place of Second Tier all facing top table teams today, there’s still plenty of room for a surprise. And considering Tyrannia face bottom tier Virtupets, their silent-but-deadly lead will likely only strengthen, putting that position under even more hot contest. Today also sees the rematch between Altador and Faerieland. These teams famously have never scored a single YYB win (at least, until Faerieland took a win yesterday), and even playing each other the match limped to a draw. Can these teams salvage some glory from the final days?

As Round Two approaches its end and the finals draw near, Lost Desert take a victory over Kreludor in YYB but forfeit all the side games to the lunar team, while Tyrannia upset Mystery Island’s hopes of contesting top tier with an almost complete sweep (only drawing in Shootout Showdown). Roo Island tackle mid-table contenders Meridell and take the win.
Three rounds before the end, and not much exciting is happening! Roo Island play the strong Maraqua- both teams have a history of upsetting those they weren’t expected to play well against, so this could be an upset for the aquatic team too. Nonetheless, the results of today will shape the final table. There’s no room to make a mistake now.

Maraqua destroy Darigan Citadel and pull themselves ever closer to swiping a place in Top Tier. There are only four matches left before the tiers are decided, and Maraqua are in a very strong position now to make the most of these matches. Mystery Island, too, are a dangerous force to be reckoned with, and similarly could cause a shock at the top. Shenkuu win their match against Kreludor though still sit behind them on the table, in a perilous position. In the middle table, Meridell trounce Haunted Woods in YYB, Kiko Lake draw with Virtupets, and Terror Mountain weep Altador. The biggest news today however is the shocking defeat of Virtupets in Shootout Showdown- the first time they haven’t won a match in this contest. Kiko Lake will be cheering this small victory as they achieve what was considered impossible. Too bad, Virtupets- a 30-0 sweep would have been great news for the space team.
Today’s big match is Lost Desert vs Kreludor. Both are very strong teams, in line for a place at the top of top tier. At this stage it’s unlikely either team will be forced out of Top Tier but it will nonetheless affect the position they enter the finals at.

Maraqua make their presence known to all with a win against Kreludor. The top five is no more- the separation between teams is too hazy to clearly define now. Mystery Island draw with Shenkuu and fall behind Maraqua on wins, but have a strong record of draws keeping them in contest. It’s a total mess at the top now and the last few matches of this years double round robin look set to really change the shape of what will become Top Tier. Haunted Woods have managed to separate second and third tier based only on wins in YYB, but when draws and the sidegames are taken into account this part of the table is as crowded as ever. It’ll be a photo-finish race to the end of round two before anything is clear-cut in this area. Tyrannia’s utter dominance in the sidegames could spell doom for the hopes of many teams in this area.
Maraqua look set to continue their destruction of what was once the Top Five by taking Darigan Citdadel down. A win here could give Maraqua a very real chance of entering Top Tier by the end of round two. Mystery Island meet with Roo Island- the Roo’s have had a string of good matches against strong teams, while Mystery Island are famous for their wildcard domination of stronger teams and unimpressive results against those lower down. This match could go either way- it was a draw in Round One. Meridell, one of the teams on the edge of second and third tier, meet Haunted Woods who currently have a very tentative hold on a place in second tier. This too will be a close one, and could have a big effect on which team ends up where once the finals are here.

The battle at the top declares Lost Desert and Kreludor the winners, with Shenkuu and Krawk Island suffering in the table as a result. Kreludor now again sit at the top of the table with Lost Desert at their ankles and Shenkuu, DC and KI just beneath. Roo Island continue their string of top tier upsets with another draw, this time against DC- Darigan would have hoped for a better result, but a draw at least helps them a little. Roo Island currently have the most drawn matches of any team, a fact that could come in handy when the tiers are finalised. Maraqua and Mystery Island finally succeed in closing the gap, with only one win now separating them from creating a Top Six. Even at this late stage the contest is difficult to call.
Today, Mystery Island and Maraqua look to make their application to join the top tier official by taking down Shenkuu and Kreludor respectively. Based on wins alone, their first obstacle to pass is Krawk Island. The Krawks however have a match against Kiko Lake, the lowest ranking team outside of bottom tier, and it’s unlikely the result of this will be anything MI and MA can take advantage of. On the other hand, losing these matches will undo all they’ve strived for and allow the top five to widen the gap once again. Darigan Citadel need to win their match against Tyrannia today or risk a very real chance of being knocked out of contest.

Krawk Island show DC how it’s done and weather through Shenkuu’s offensive, taking a draw overall. The other matches played as expected; Maraqua and Mystery Island remain a top tier threat, and Haunted Woods manage to take a YYB win against Tyrannia but lose in the side games.
Today sees four of the top five at loggerheads, as Lost Desert meet Shenkuu and Krawk Island battle Kreludor. Darigan Citadel sidestep the chaos but run into Roo Island who have already upset two of the top five recently- will they be able to take advantage of the fallout this clash will cause or will DC lose out on a big opportunity to get back to the top? Further down, Maraqua face Tyrannia- TY have a weak YYB record, but until recently so did Roo Island, so Maraqua will need to be on their guard.

More bad news for Darigan Citadel as Shenkuu take revenge for their first round defeat. Shenkuu now has the most YYB wins, though Kreludor sit behind them with many more draws and Krawk Island’s side-game record ensure Shenkuu is far from safe. In fact it was a bad day for the top five overall- Kreludor are the second top team to draw with Roo Island, Mystery Island trounce Krawk Island (though KI swee the side-games), and Maraqua take Lost Desert to a stalemate. Even looking further down there are surprises as bottom-tier team Terror Mountain force second/third tier Meridell to admit a draw.
Darigan Citadel have had a hard time recently with three matches against top opponents. Now it’s Krawk Island’s turn; fresh from their defeat against Mystery Island the pirates now face current YYB leaders Shenkuu. Mystery Island and Maraqua, the two teams with the strongest chance of gunning for a place in top tier, bolster their attack with matches against bottom tier teams Faerieland and Virtupets. A mid-table clash between Haunted Woods and Tyrannia meanwhile looks to reshape the boundary between second and third tier. Haunted Woods have a better YYB record but Tyrannia are a dangerous force in the side games.

Lost Desert recover from their draw against Roo Island and knock Darigan Citdael to the bottom of the top five. Maraqua are within sniffing distance of making it a top six now after taking the win against Mystery Island. Haunted Woods manage to regain lost ground, but it may have come too late to save them, while in bottom tier Terror Mountain and Virtupets come to a dead heat.
Life doesn’t get any easier for Darigan as Shenkuu take their turn to keep DC out of top tier. DC managed to beat Shenkuu in round one but as the contest heats up both teams will be playing stronger than before. Meanwhile the other top teams conspire against their closest rivals with KI confronting Maraqua and Lost Desert taking on Mystery Island. Maraqua have been playing very strongly in recent matches and the Krawks will need to be on their toes to avoid a disappointment, while Mystery Island remain as unpredictably volatile as ever. Kreludor face Roo Island who earlier in the week forced Lost Desert to take a stalemate- it’s easy for a top team to get complacent against a lower ranking team, a fact Roo Island will be hoping to take further advantage of.

The clash at the top between Darigan Citadel and Krawk Island ends in a chilling stalemate, letting Kreludor and Shenkuu overtake the Krawks and draw even with DC (in fact, taking draws into account, Kreludor are now leading). This is good news for the lunar team who had at one point seemed to be almost out of contest. Roo Island meanwhile surprise the top table by battling Lost Desert into a heated draw- with a result like that, could we be seeing a return to glory for our current champions? It’s still not too late for a mid-table team to storm the upper ranks! Meanwhile Mystery Island disappoint Haunted Woods allowing Meridell to take a lead, while Maraqua continue their current string of dominations. HW slip into the gap between Second and Third Tier- and with Tyrannia’s sleeper-hit record in the side games, Haunted Woods’ lead of one YYB win may not be enough to keep them safe. Tyrannia are so strong here even Meridell may not be safe- the lead is strong enough that it could be enough to slide Tyrannia into the bottom of Second Tier as long as they can keep it up.
Lost Desert meet Darigan Citadel today. Both teams are still hurting from their stalemate matches yesterday so this one could go either way. Another highly interesting match is between Mystery Island and Maraqua. Currently both teams have a very real chance of adding themselves to the top five and contesting for a place in Top Tier- with Maraqua’s current table domination and Mystery Island’s sporadic record of disappointing draws followed by stunning victories, this too could go either way, and will be a blow for the team who loses. A draw would be an even worse result, undoing all their efforts to keep the gap between the top five and the rest of the table narrow. Current table-toppers Kreludor meet Tyrannia, who despite their strong showing in the side-games have the poorest YYB record outside of bottom tier. But with Roo Island upsetting Lost Desert yesterday, it’s certainly not a closed contest!

Kreludor manage to see Mystery Island off and hold onto their place alongside the other top five. Shenkuu meanwhile don’t fall to the strong Haunted Woods. Lower down, Meridell and Tyrannia come to a dead heat.
Darigan Citadel still hold the most wins but as today they face Krawk Island, is their time at the top over? The other top teams won’t have much trouble staying put with fairly easy matches. Elsewhere, Mystery Island meet Haunted Woods. Both are strong teams, but Mystery Island will need this win to stay ahead of Maraqua who are sitting just behind with equal wins but fewer draws. As Maraqua face bottom tier Altador there is every chance the top teams could see a new aquatic rival in the coming days.

Darigan Citadel take a loss to the volatile Mystery Island. DC still lead on wins alone, but the gap is now small enough that others teams could beat them with their records in the side games and draws. With each other team in the top five taking a win, Darigan Citadel are in a far less secure position and the contest is as wide open as ever. Mystery Island also manage to keep the gap between the top five and the rest of the table from getting any wider- it’s still possible for a number of teams to storm these leaders yet. Maraqua make a strong showing in Second Tier, widening their lead with a win against Meridell while Haunted Woods drop places with a draw vs Roo Island.
Today Mystery Island continue their slaughter of the top teams by playing Kreludor. Kreludor can’t afford to be too confident as a loss here would narrow the gap and give MI a strong chance of taking a place in top tier by the end of the contest. And with Krawk Island and Lost Desert having easy matches, DC making up for lost ground against Faerieland, and Shenkuu meeting the strong but outclassed Haunted Woods, Kreludor could be strongly upset. Maraqua meanwhile look to follow in MI’s wake and strengthen their grip on Second Tier against bottom tier team Terror Mountain. Should Haunted Woods and Meridell lose today, Maraqua will be nearly untouchable. However it is still too soon to declare this a seven-horse race and given the unpredictable nature of the contest so far, no team, regardless of placement, can afford to get complacent.

A surprise loss for Shenkuu and a stalemate between Lost Desert and Krawk Island allow Kreludor to catch up and Darigan Citadel to widen their lead. Virtupets didn’t let DC get away with it completely though, denying them wins in the side games (which, given how close this contest is, could prove vital in determining the final rounds). Maraqua’s win against Shenkuu is good news for the aquatic team as they strengthen their grip on second tier, though with Haunted Woods just behind them with a stronger lead in the side games their position is still in peril. Many teams still sit between second and third tier.
Darigan have their hardest match in Round Two so far against professional upsetters Mystery Island. DC managed to avoid MI’s wildcard power in Round One, but can they pull it off again? Meanwhile Maraqua face close competitiors Meridell for control of the rest of second tier. And further down, Tyrannia meet Kiko Lake and hope to sweep the side games as they have been doing, keeping a sideline lead on those above them.

Maraqua take Haunted Woods by surprise and score a win, putting them on an even level. The other matches play out largely as expected, resulting in little difference to the table. The top five now have a lead strong enough that, save for a major upset, is unlikely to be contested. Mystery Island sit closest, 3 wins behind Kreludor. Haunted Woods and Maraqua sit behind those, filling out the rest of second tier.
Today’s big match is between Krawk Island and Lost Desert, both powerhouse teams in contest for a place in the top four. Krawk Island famously lost to Lost Desert in the first round after appearing to be one of the strongest contenders in the tournament, and a loss either way could put them in danger of being overtaken by Kreludor if the lunar team wins today and doesn’t slip up later on. Kreludor however have to see off Haunted Woods. Kreludor won their match against HW in the first round, but HW are still a strong team and could easily pull an upset. Maraqua collide with Shenkuu in an attempt to close the gap separating the tiers.

The contest enters round two with absolutely no certainties! The top teams have for the first time separated themselves from the rest of the crowd but there are still five teams trying to fill four places, and one of them has to be disappointed by the end. The gap isn’t so large it can’t be closed- and given the unpredictable results of Round One, there’s every chance that could happen. In lower tiers, Second Tier remains congested with no major difference between most of the mid-table teams- even Kiko Lake could take a place in second tier with a few well-placed victories. Mystery Island and Haunted Woods sit uneasily at the top of second tier, waiting to see which of the five teams vying for a place in top tier will be dethroned and join them. Roo Isladn have slipped to the bottom of third tier; although they lead Tyrannia by one win in YYB, Tyrannia have a vastly stronger record in the side games with which should carry them over the current champions. This lead is so strong in fact that they may even be a danger to Kiko Lake. (Please note: The value of the side games is not known to anyone besides TNT, so it is impossible to accurately predict how these scores will affect the final table. Due to this unknown factor, most predictions listed in these announcements will refer only to YYB wins, unless otherwise stated.) Meridell and Maraqua sit on the border between tiers, drifting constantly between them. Virtupets remain undefeated in Shootout Showdown and Faerieland are still yet to get a result better than a loss in any match so far (other than their single yooyuball draw vs Altador).
Round Two opens with the current top teams having easy matches. The largest potential for upset comes in the Lost Desert vs Meridell match- Meridell are a reasonable force in the table and if LD get complacent could sneak a victory away. Mystery Island play Altador to keep the gap between the top teams from widening, while Haunted Woods meet the comparable Maraqua, who have a poorer record overall but are still fairly competitive and will be playing their best to avoid sinking into third tier. Haunted Woods however will not let them win easily- as one of the teams with the strongest chance of dethroning one of the front-runners they will be playing viciously to ensure they don’t fall behind.
The finals are not yet out of sight for a good number of teams- make sure you play to your best in Round Two and get your team as high as they can go!

The clash at the top results in a draw. Lost Desert don’t manage to pull Darigan Citadel down from the top but they at least have prevented the darigans from widening their lead, allowing the other top teams to play catch-up. Three teams now clamour beneath the Citadel, looking for the opportunity to take the lead. Kreludor sit with one less win but many more draws than Shenkuu who sit above them. If Shenkuu aren’t careful the Kreludor team may be able to take their place from behind by riding on the value of these draws. Haunted Woods sit in a safe place towards the top of second tier and hope not to be toppled by Mystery Island or Meridell. Third tier is a crowded place with most teams sharing similar results, and Tyrannia falling behind in yooyuball wins but showing a strong advantage in the side-games which could prove dangerous to their competition. Virtupets lead bottom tier and are still yet to forfeit a single match of Shootout Showdown.
As Round One draws to a close, we find matches unlikely to change the shape of the table. Darigan Citadel meet Haunted Woods who, while a strong team, may not be strong enough to take on the table leaders. Shenkuu meet Altador, Kreludor meet Terror Mountain, Krawk Island meet Tyrannia and Lost Desert meet Virtupets in games unlikely to result in upsets for the top teams. The interesting matches today concern middle-grounders; Meridell and Mystery Island face off- Mystery Island are wildly unpredictable and this match could easily go either way. Maraqua meanwhile meet their close rivals and fallen champions Roo Island- their scores are currently very close, with only a few wins in side games separating them. The result of this match will be a big deal for both teams, whichever way it goes.

Today is the last match of Round One. How well do you consider your team to have done, and what are your predictions for Round Two?

Kreludor play to their best and force a stalemate with Lost Desert, allowing Darigan Citadel to take the uncontested top place. It’s a nostalgic view for DC, who spent most of the second tournament here. Will they stay for the duration? Lost Desert look to ensure they don’t in tomorrow’s DC vs LD match- Though a loss for Lost Desert here will strengthen DC’s lead. Krawk Island and Shenkuu play catchup with a win each today and hope to do the same against comparatively easy matches tomorrow too (Shenkuu face Faerieland and KI face the strong middle-grounders Meridell). Mystery Island seem almost intent on upsetting whoever they play rather than going for wins in a draw against Tyrannia, pushing the prehistoric team ever more dangerously close to bottom tier. However TY have a good record in the side games that should save them if necessary. The unpredictable Mystery Island meet the leaders of third tier Maraqua in today’s matchups; If the aquatic team can pull a win here they’ll be within earshot of second tier.
The contest is oddly close this year and with round one almost at its end the game is still completely unpredictable. The top tier has already changed so many times and no team has a clear enough hold to be a certainty. Contrasted to last year where the only contest was for fourth place, the competition is a lot closer this year and your teams need you more than ever to play to your best.

With a surprise win for DC against Shenkuu, a surprise draw for Krawk Island against Mystery Island, and an expected win for Lost Desert against Maraqua, DC and LD sit top of the table with the first clear lead since this years contest began. Both teams have a two-win lead on their closest rivals Kreludor, Krawk Island and Shenkuu. These three teams also sit two wins ahead of the ankle-biting Mystery Island and Meridell teams. We’re nearing the end of round one- what will round two have in store? It’s unlikely to play identically; we could yet see a very different top four.
Today has current table-toppers DC play against Altador and hope to stick where the are. LD meanwhile meet Kreludor who, despite slipping behind recently, are still a force to be reckoned with, and given the repeated surprises this year could upset the desert team yet. Mystery Island and Meridell look to close the gap with easy matches vs Tyrannia and Roo Island, while Krawk Island look to widen it against Terror Mountain. Shenkuu play Kiko Lake and aim to catch up to the front-runners.

The FAQ page now has information on how many Yooyuball wins you need to achieve each rank. Thanks Pasq!

Kreludor and Shenkuu collide and force a stalemate, resulting in both teams sliding down the table. Krawk Island take the opportunity to get back on level with Shenkuu. The biggest surprise though is seeing Darigan Citadel and Lost Desert riding at the top. Former champions DC were used to the view in the second tournament but to see them there this year is something of a surprise. Of course, their last few matches have been fairly easy. Lost Desert meanwhile have had a rough time and still managed to take the top spot. Will LD be present in the finals and take the cup from Krawk Island yet again? Will the cup be returning to the Citadel? Or can the pirates take back their lead? Shenkuu meanwhile lurk dangerously, ready to take the top spot at the first slip-up of a rival team. It’s crowded at the top! Meanwhile, Mystery Island, who had earlier on been a powerhouse team, suffer a disappointing draw at the hands of Roo Island. Futher down, Kiko Lake continue to storm the lower tiers with another win taking them above current champions Roo Island, Haunted Woods, and Maraqua. Kiko Lake are now sitting comfortably alongside Meridell in the middle of the table. Tyrannia fall dangerously close to bottom tier, with Terror Mountain just one win away from equalling the prehistoric team.
Today spells trouble for the top. Darigan Citadel meet Shenkuu for the first time; DC’s last few matches have been much easier than this one and they may find themselves upset, despite Shenkuu briefly losing control of the top. Lost Desert face a much easier time against Maraqua. Kreludor look to return to the top tier contest with a win against Roo Island, while Krawk Island have a match against the highly temperamental Mystery Island. MI have a habit of falling back just before taking a shock win against a powerful team and powering up the table again- will the Krawks see this coming and defeat it or will the battle of the islands go to MI?

Upset after upset! Krawk Island lose to Lost Desert and fall into fourth place alongside Kreludor, leaving a VERY different looking top three! Lost Desert head the table, followed by Darigan Citadel and Shenkuu. Mystery Island wait just behind the two disgraced former-leaders and wait for a chance to slip by, while Meridell sit comfortably behind MI. It’s no longer possible to tell what the table will look like in the coming days- could we see an even more different top four come the finals? Meanwhile Kiko Lake overtake Tyrannia and set themselves securely into Third Tier, and with a few more wins could even oust former champions Roo Island. Haunted Woods and Maraqua hover uncertainly between Second and Third Tier.
Today sees Shenkuu meet Kreludor. Kreludor need to win this match to stay in the game, but with Shenkuu now leading and showing a strong game throughout the contest, is it too late for the lunar squad? More importantly, since Krawk Island face Faerieland, a loss for Kreludor will mean dropping behind their closest rivals- bad news. A win meanwhile will drop Shenkuu a place, but with Lost Desert and Darigan Citadel facing comparatively easy matches vs Tyrannia and Maraqua is still unlikely to get them back to the top. Of course, nothing is for certain in the top tiers any more! A mid-table clash between Haunted Woods and Meridell meanwhile could reshape the boundaries between second and third tier.

Mystery Island upset the former front runners Kreludor with a draw, causing the KR team to fall into fifth place! Darigan Citadel, Krawk Island, Shenkuu and Lost Desert take advantage with easy wins and take the top four places. Meanwhile second and third tier remain crowded and strongly contested with many teams sitting very much on the border between tiers- one win or loss for any team here could be the difference between a tentative position at the bottom of second tier or falling into the top of third. Bottom Tier is fairly established by now and is unlikely to change much, but it wouldn’t be the first time a team has come from nowhere to storm the table. Virtupets’ fantastic record in Shootout Showdown could even carry them above Kiko Lake and into third tier if they can keep it up.
Today sees Darigan Citadel and Shenkuu play fairly easy matches against Virtupets and Maraqua respectively. The exciting match today though is between Krawk Island and Lost Desert- Whatever the result of this match, at least one of these teams is going to be upset. Even a draw would be bad news as then both teams would fall behind. LD and KI players need to be trying their hardest today. Mystery Island look to keep clawing their way back against bottom tier team Terror Mountain, Kreludor hope to make up for their blip against Mystery Island with a comparatively easy match vs Haunted Woods, but as the spooky team have been making their comeback could there be another upset? Kiko Lake hope to widen the distance between bottom tier and themselves with a match against Altador, who along with Faerieland are still yet to secure a single win.

For the first time since the start of this years tournament, every place in top tier is currently contested. A draw between Kreludor and Krawk Island, plus a win each for Darigan Citadel and Lost Desert, place five teams on nearly level-pegging, only their draws and side-game wins separating them. Shenkuu survive their loss to Lost Desert and hang onto their position as one of those five. In lower tiers Kiko Lake manage to separate themselves from bottom tier with a win against Terror Mountain, now putting themselves two wins above the next team below them. Virtupets are still undefeated in Shootout Showdown and show no signs of ever relenting.
Today sees most of the top contenders taking easy matches- DC vs Faerieland, Krawk Island vs Altador, Lost Desert vs Kiko Lake. Shenkuu have a slightly harder time against Haunted Woods who have started to make a comeback, and Kreludor meet the dangerous Mystery Island. MI have slipped from grace but are still a team to be careful of.

The mighty Kreludor have fallen. Maraqua forced a draw with the lunar team and Kreludor are now on equal footing with Krawk Island and Shenkuu. Is this the beginning of their great fall, or a simple slip-up? Only time will tell. Of course, it will take a lot more than this to knock them entirely out of the running. Their draw puts Maraqua in a strong position to take the top of Third Tier, or possibly even steal a place in the bottom of Second Tier. Mystery Island take another beating at the hands of Shenkuu and fall behind in the run for Top Tier- fourth place is currently contested by only Darigan Citadel and Lost Desert, both of whom won their matches. Haunted Woods begin to climb up the table again taking a win against Terror Mountain.
Today sees a clash of the titans as Kreludor finally meet Krawk Island. KI will be hoping to take advantage of Kreludor’s diminished morale after the draw and take the lead. Shenkuu meanwhile play Lost Desert, a currently strong team- but perhaps not strong enough to stop Shenkuu rising above. And if the KI vs KR match results in a draw, Shenkuu could even take the top place. Darigan Citadel look to take advantage of Lost Desert’s difficult game with a comparatively easy match against current champions Roo Island, who have had a disappointing run so far this year. A win here could see DC enter Top Tier as a very shaky fourth place. Of course, there have been upsets before, and DC may take the same punishment they dealt to Mystery Island. MI will be hoping to regain lost ground against Virtupets, who still have not been defeated in Shootout Showdown- the only team with an undefeated record in any of the events this year. And in lower tiers, Kiko Lake meet Terror Mountain in a battle to stay out of bottom tier.

The Top Goal Scorers page is now working. Go and see if your star player could be this year’s MVP!

Shenkuu’s win against Terror Mountain places them among the top three and in a strong position above the other teams. Shenkuu often do well, finishing third in 2007 and fourth place last year, so a strong showing throughout the tournament will not be a suprise. Can Krawk Island and Kreludor keep them from taking the top spot though? Meanwhile Darigan Citadel charge up the table with a surprise shut-out victory against Mystery Island, taking a win in every game. Mystery Island have now slipped from their comfortable position and are level-pegging with Lost Desert and DC.
Further down the table, the battle to stay out of 3rd tier is fierce, with 5 teams currently on equal footing: Haunted Woods, Maraqua, Meridell, Kiko Lake and Roo Island. Each team will be fighting desperately to join the teams who miss out on fourth place. Tyrannia look set to take a comfortable place in second tier with enough wins to take them above this swarm of teams. The teams in 4th tier may have a hard time promoting themselves but even here the contest is close- Virtupets still remain undefeated in Shootout Showdown, a fact that may take them above and beyond their competition.
Today, Darigan Citadel match up against the comfortable Tyrannia and look set to hold onto their strong position. Following their surprise loss against the Darigan team, Mystery Island go on to face the powerful Shenkuu- could they be upset even further? A loss here would place them in very dangerous waters, especially if the other front-runners win their games. And with Krawk Island and Lost Desert facing bottom tier teams, it looks like Mystery Island are going to have to upset Shenkuu the same way DC upset them. In the battle for the middle tiers, Maraqua face the undefeated Kreludor and risk falling behind, while Haunted Woods and Roo Island take on fourth tier teams and hope to take advantage of this. Wherever your team currently places, they need you to play to your best.

Now the table has an established shape, what are your hopes for your team? Are they middle-table battlers fighting like crazy to take a place in second tier, or are you waiting on tenterhooks to see if their current lofty position gets ousted by a surprise attack coming from below? Are you currently struggling to take the top of the lower levels? Let us know how it’s going!

Kreludor continue their winning streak with another victory and hold onto the top of the table. Krawk Island, Mystery Island, and Shenkuu also take victories and land themselves places in the top four. A draw between Lost Desert and Haunted Woods is bad news for both teams- LD now fall behind where a win would have seen them place above Shenkuu, and Haunted Woods have slipped to near the bottom of the table. Darigan Citadel and Tyrannia sit alongside Lost Desert waiting for one of the current top four to slip up. And of course, Faerieland and Altador both remain with no wins so far in a draw against each other!
Today’s matches offer Lost Desert the chance to play catch-up in a match against Faerieland. Kreludor look to further cement their lead against Altador, and Krawk Island play Virtupets- will Virtupets be able to hold onto their unblemished record of wins in Shootout Showdown against such a strong team? Darigan Citadel face losing ground against the strong Mystery Island, while Tyrannia hope for an easy boost against Kiko Lake.

Surprisingly, Krawk Island suffer their first non-win this year against former champions Darigan Citadel. This is bad news for the pirate team who have now slipped behind front-runners Kreludor. Mystery Island also took a draw against Haunted Woods, leaving only Kreludor at the top of the table. Shenkuu and Lost Desert are now on near-equal footing with these two teams, with DC, Maraqua, Tyrannia and Roo Island at their ankles. Altador and Faerieland are the only teams with no wins so far. Virtupets however have the honour of being the only team to have won all Shootout Showdown games, with a clean 4 wins so far.
Fresh from their good result against a powerful team, Darigan Citadel go on to face a comparatively easy target, Terror Mountain. But will the success yesterday make them complacent? Mystery Island hope to regain lost ground against Kiko Lake, who have won only one match so far. Krawk Island face a harder challenge against Maraqua, but will the poor result yesterday dampen their spirits or spur them to work harder? Finally, Faerieland and Altador meet each other. One of these two teams will finally have a win… unless it’s a draw!

Krawk Island take revenge for their defeat in last year’s finals, taking their first ever win against Roo Island, even sweeping a victory in every side-game. Along with Kreludor and Mystery Island, this puts them in the current top 3. Will this be the shape of the table for the tournament? Last year there were three teams with a clear lead, leaving the other middle-table front-runners to fight tooth and nail for the coveted fourth place, the last place that has a chance of taking the gold. If this trend continues, expect a very tight competition for the next 30 days! Darigan Citadel, Tyrannia, Roo Island, Shenkuu and the Lost Desert are all currently in contest for that place, with Maraqua, Haunted Woods, Kiko Lake and Virtupets just behind waiting to slip past. Expect a very different looking table after a few more matches!
Today’s notable match-ups include Shenkuu vs Tyrannia- both are currently on equal footing in yooyuball, and a win either way will see one team have a stronger position on taking fourth place while the other will slip under. Roo Island vs Lost Desert is a similar matchup- will the desert team falter under the prospect of taking on the champions or will Roo lose out on complacency? Kreludor look to secure their lead in a match against Virtupets.

How well are you and your team doing so far? Now the table has some shape, what are your predictions for the success of your team? Let us know in the comments!

In the first match Kreludor have ever played against Kiko Lake (both teams were knocked out of the first tournament before they could face each other, and were absent from 2007 and 2008 respectively) the lunar team take the victory, placing them among the top contenders so far. A top 4 has already emerged- Krawk Island, Roo Island, Mystery Island, and Kreludor. Will these four teams hold onto their top tier placements throughout the contest or will a sideliner sneak a place from them again? Roo Island seem to be evading the Winners Curse that had plagued the previous winners. Will they be the first team to hold onto the Cup two years in a row? Meanwhile former champions HW and DC both take their first win this year, both teams hoping to prove themselves to be as fearsome as they were in their heyday. Shenkuu and Maraqua, who last year fought commendably but were ousted by the might of the Islands, also take their first win, alongside Tyrannia and Lost Desert. Faerieland are the only team so far to have lost everything, other bottom-table teams having at least taken a draw in one of the side-games.
Today sees Roo and Krawk come together again as they did in the finals of last year. Will the results echo that climactic clash or will the Krawks take revenge (and the lead)? Mystery Island take on the hosts Altador. Altador have never, in the history of the Cup, beaten the Islanders. Can they pull a win today? Kreludor seek to take an early lead with a match against Faerieland.

Thanks to the magic of Pasq, you can now see how well each team has performed in the history of the event on our Teams pages. Take a gander and make your predictions in the comments below!

Roo Island show they’re still in business taking their first win of the new season, along with consistently strong Krawk Island, Virtupets, Kreludor, Mystery Island, Tyrannia and Shenkuu. Kiko Lake return to the game this year after missing last years tournament and also take the first match of the season. It’s a bad start for former champions Darigan Citadel and Haunted Woods however, who still cannot seem to shake off the supposed Winners Curse. This is only the first match of many however and past years have taught us things can all change with just one victory.
Today sees a classic rivalry once again as Darigan clash with Meridell. Meanwhile current champions Roo Island take on Altador, the hosts of this tournament. Altador have a poor record at their own national sport and will be hoping to perform better this year. Shenkuu, surprisingly strong contenders in 2008, match up against Krawk Island, famous for never quite making it (having taken 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in previous years).
It’s only day 2 of 34, so there’s still plenty to play for!
Original Message:
The Altador Cup has begun! But of course not everything is going quite as it should yet. You may notice that when you play a game and send your score, it doesn’t always get counted. Until TNT has fixed this, it might be wise to not play much or at all. If you do want to play your games now, then it’s suggested that whenever you have submitted a score, you load a new game window for your next game. Most of the time this will result in actually having your scores counted.
We’ll let you know once these problems have been fixed.
Once again, we’ll be covering the Cup every day bringing updates and predictions on each teams chances. Roo Island, the winners last year, will be hoping to hold onto their title, having come from nowhere to take it from the hands of Darigan Citadel. Darigan Citadel meanwhile will be striving to do better than their comparatively bad season last year, finishing 7th place. Haunted Woods are another contender to watch, having taken the first Gold when the event first started. Will we see another shock winner this year? Will Krawk Island strive valiantly and only just lose out as they have every year or will this year see the pirates taking the Gold? Will Faerieland ever win a match? Faerieland may just take the cup home this year! It’s all down to you, the players.

And don’t forget the game doesn’t start and end on the pitch! Scream your head off, sling some slushies, and score some penalties in the bonus games- they can make all the difference, as seen last year- the leaderboard looked very different when scores from these games were taken into account.
Don’t forget each entry will have a comment box for you to share your opinion. Cheer your victories, lament your defeats, predict your teams chances, or just discuss strategies with other members of your team.
It’s going to be a cracking month, so get your Yooyuball sling equipped and lets play!
When you finally decide on which team to join for this year’s Cup, you’ll receive your very own Altador Cup Background and a great new Yooyu Key Quest token.
Get some practice in before the matches start on June 2nd. Are you going to play Yooyuball exclusively? Or mix it up with some games of Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and the game for 2009, Shootout Showdown.
It looks as though there will also be an NC Challenge, what that involves, we’re not too sure yet. More news when the Cup gets underway on Tuesday.
